ASIA S GLOBAL BUSINESS SCHOOL Double Degree with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Master in Public Policy (MPP) Master in Public Administration (MPA)

Get Ahead of the Competition The NUS MBA Double Degree with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Both NUS Business School and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy have long been preparing their students for leadership in the private and public sectors. Designed to nurture and develop leaders, the broad-based NUS MBA programme prepares students to lead people and manage operations in organisations in the public and private sectors. Combining the strengths of both NUS Business School and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, this double degree programme - the first of its kind in the region - aims to attract the region's outstanding executives; particularly those who intend to pursue careers in government and its enterprises. The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a university of global standing, with distinctive strengths in education and research and an entrepreneurial dimension. Its diverse and cosmopolitan community of over 30,000 students from 100 countries contribute to a rich learning and living environment. NUS offers a broad-based curriculum underscored by multi-disciplinary courses and crossfaculty enrichment. There are 14 faculties offering courses from architecture to medicine to music. A special feature of NUS education is the global dimension of its courses in partnership with some of the world s best institutions. NUS plays an active role in international academic networks such as the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU). It is ranked amongst the best universities in the world, and is well-regarded for disciplines such as Technology, Biomedicine and the Social Sciences. NUS Business School is known for its focus in providing management thought leadership from an Asian perspective, enabling our students and corporate partners to leverage on the best global knowledge and deep Asian insights to drive business growth in Asia and around the world. The School has consistently received top rankings by independent publications and agencies, such as Financial Times, Economist Intelligence Unit, and QS Top MBA, in recognition of the quality of our programmes, our faculty s research as well as our graduates. We have a top research faculty that is close to practice; more than 2,500 BBA, MBA, Executive MBA, and PhD students; and over 45,000 alumni who are in diverse organisations and positions of leadership throughout the world. The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy offers prospective graduate students with a unique opportunity for public policy education in a distinctive environment that is at once both Asian and global. The principles of public policy taught in the School are universally applied. However, its location in Asia and its diverse student body provide a valuable opportunity to network with future generations of Asian policymakers as well as gain insight into the latest thinking in Asian minds. Our growing partnerships with sister institutions in Asia, Europe and North America also help to generate a truly international environment in the School which will prove both rewarding and welcoming for students from every corner of the globe. Policies and regulations set by public leaders have a great impact on business, investments, economic growth and the society. The Master in Public Policy & Master in Public Administration are specially designed to prepare these leaders who require expertise in both policy making and business management. I believe our graduates will be visionary, enlightened and enterprising leaders who could serve in a wide range of positions in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Professor Bernard Yeung Dean of NUS Business School One of the major trends of our time has been the convergence between the public and private sectors. In the past, they were perceived to be in different compartments. Now we are seeing increasing cooperation between both sectors. For example, there is greater involvement by the private sector in the provision of public services. Equally, we are seeing a greater involvement of the public sector in the promotion of business as nations vie with each other to promote themselves as desirable destinations for investment and to ensure a level playing field for their companies. We are also seeing an increase in the two-way flow of talent between the public and private sectors, a flow that on the whole has been beneficial. This may well be the area where our new joint programmes could add the most value. Graduates of the double degree programmes will be well versed in the languages of both business and government, comfortable operating in both domains. By being effectively bilingual, they will have a unique competitive advantage in the marketplace. They could also become the leaders in promoting public-private partnerships. Professor Kishore Mahbubani Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy

This Double Degree programme offers a unique blend of learning the functions of both private and public sectors, providing me with the flexibility to work in both set ups. With an emerging era of Public Private partnerships, this understanding has become all the more important. Saharsh Bajpai (Indian) The Chinese character, meaning self, comprises part of the Chinese character, meaning public. This is a testimony that since ancient times, the Chinese has already acknowledged the close relationship between the public and private sectors. I chose The NUS MBA to gain a deeper understanding of global business issues and challenges, and the MPA for insights into the workings of the public sector. The skills gained will enable media professionals like me to better perform the bridging role between the government and the people, and to contribute to my company's financial success.
