MX 925 INSTALLING SOFTWARE PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION The minimum OS version for the MX 925 unit is 30140200. Check the OS version by entering System Mode. 1. Enter System Mode by pressing and holding the 1 key, the 5 key, and the 9 key at the same time. If the system is running when System Mode is accessed, the message System Halt will appear. This is normal and okay. 2. Hold the three keys down for approximately one minute, until the password request window appears. Note: System Mode may also be accessed by using the reset hole on the back of the PIN Pad. 3. The default password for a new unit is 166831. This will sometimes be changed to 166832 after initial start-up. 4. From Home, choose Information and then Basic System. Scroll down and find Build. This will show the Release Number. If the OS is 30140200 or above, proceed with install of the MX 925. If the wrong OS is installed, update the OS to the minimum or newer and proceed with installation of the MX 925. Attach the USB memory stick containing the proper files to the dongle required for all PIN Pad installations. Note: The USB memory stick may be inserted into the dongle before or after power-up. 10/05/2015, rev1.1 1

BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING When troubleshooting the MX 925, always verify the OS version first. Also check the installed applications. This will show the applications currently installed and alert to potential missing applications. Additionally, this information will be useful when calling into the Verifone Help Desk for support. To check installed applications, look under the Installed S/W tab. If Debugging is required, the Verifone Help Desk will send one or more files. Download these files and install in the Downloads section. 10/05/2015, rev1.1 7
