As an affiliate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the Network has over 40 residency training programs and is a medical student site. The Network is the safety net public system for the 2 million residents of Queens, and serves one of the most ethnically diverse populations in the United States. Mental Health Services at Elmhurst and Queens Hospitals include 207 adult, child & adolescent and forensic beds; 3 partial hospitalization programs; outpatient clinic services providing over 100,000 visits; Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Programs; three ACT Teams; Asian and Hispanic bi-cultural services; intensive child services at Elmhurst Hospital including: inpatient, emergency services, urgent care, Home Based Crisis, Mobile outreach and school based program. Elmhurst and Queens also have extensive chemical dependency programs including a Methadone program, two chemical dependency clinics, Alcohol Day Rehabilitation program, Alcohol Half-Way House and Harm Reduction Programs.
