What is Semantic Search? The Workopolis semantic search engine will: Intuitively understand what the user is actually looking for versus searching solely on matching the keywords the user has entered. Look to better understand the intent of the keywords the user enters. It considers the context of the search, and variations of words and synonyms. Return search results based on what it believes the searcher is intending to find.

Example of how Semantic Search works When entering the keyword Customer Service Representative, semantic search will look beyond an exact keyword match. It will consider the following: 1. A variation of words and synonyms for the keyword Customer Service Representative. 2. Related customer service skills in previous jobs. 3. Number of years experience in related jobs. 4. Relevant experience in the Career Objective. 5. Additional related skills under the Skills section. 6. And much more.

Log into your Workopolis Employer Account From your Employer Dashboard either: Click Resume Database link to be redirected to the search page or From the Candidate Connect Resume Database section, enter your keywords, location and click Search Resumes to run your search

Performing a Search To perform a search, enter: A keyword A location A radius from your location Click Search Resumes The More Search Options allows you to filter with the following fields: Job Title Employer Skills Education Industry Show resumes posted in English and/or French Last Updated Note: Leverage Boolean Search Operators for an exact keyword match. Supported Boolean Operators are: AND OR NOT ()

Search Results Page Refining your search: You may refine your search by using one or more of the below filters: Job Title Industry Employer Education Required Skills The Result List: 1. Show preview icon (arrows) allows you to view additional work history and education. 2. Candidate name Click on their name to view the resume. 3. The Checkmark will remind you that you have previously viewed this candidate. 4. Viewed by you / Viewed by a colleague will appear when you hover over the candidate s name to identify who has previously viewed the resume. 5. Open Notes icon will allow you to add a note (private or shared) or view one that has been attached to the candidate s resume. 6. Open Shortlists icon allows you to copy the resume in one or more of your shortlists. 7. Bulk Options allow you to select candidates from the list and either Download or Print their resume or send them an Email.

What counts as a view A view is considered when the following actions are performed: Clicking on a candidate s name from the result list Viewing a resume by clicking Previous resume or Next resume Viewing a Confidential Resume Viewing a resume from a Candidate Alert Printing, Downloading or Emailing candidates using the bulk options The candidate s resume will remain viewed for 365 days starting on the day the view was consumed. Note: A view is not consumed by clicking on the Show preview icon.

Viewing Resumes When viewing a resume, you will be able to: View the Candidate Information on the right hand side Download a PDF version or Print the resume from the Tools box or at the bottom of their resume Shortlists Add a candidate s resume to an existing list by selecting the checkbox or a new list by clicking Create a new list Add private Notes or select the Share with colleagues checkbox to share the notes with your coworkers Use the Back to search results, Previous resume or Next resume links to navigate in the list of results Note: The keywords matching your search criteria will be highlighted in yellow throughout the resume.

Confidential Resumes Candidates have the option to supress their personal information within their resume. These resumes will be displayed as Confidential Candidate. To send a request to the candidate: Enter a message in the text box Click Contact Candidate Workopolis will send an email to the candidate notifying them of your request with your message entered in the text box. Once the candidate approves your request, you will receive an email with a link back to their resume.

Saved Search and Candidate Alert Click the Save this search link to save your criteria and quickly re-run your search in the future. Click the Create Alert link to be notified of new and updated resumes that match your criteria. To retrieve your saved searches and alerts: Open My Resume Search menu Click NEW Saved Searches and Candidate Alerts option Click on the name of the Saved Search or Email Alert to re-run it You may also: Click Get email updates and then choose a frequency to convert a Saved Search into an Email Alert Dropdown menu Change the frequency of your Email Alert or choose Make this alert a saved search to convert your Email Alert into a Saved Search Click Delete to remove a Saved Search or Email Alert

Shortlists The Shortlist is a feature that allows you to manage potential candidates by adding them to a new or existing list. To retrieve your Shortlists: From the Candidate Connect menu click the Shortlists option Click the appropriate Shortlist Tile to open the list Once on the list of candidates: Click the candidate s name to view their resume Click the Delete icon to remove a candidate from the list Click the Note icon to add or view a note (private or shared) Use the Bulk Options to Download, Print, Email or Delete selected candidates from your list. Note: The Shortlist Tile displays the list name, the quantity of candidates in the list and the last time it was updated.
