Clad Wood and All Wood Signature Series As tough and as gorgeous as it gets. Clad Wood and wood windows are truly all-canadian products. Our all wood windows have been the flagship product since 1950, while our Clad Wood windows were introduced in 1984. Clad Wood windows combine old world wood window craftsmanship with the strength of pre-finished aluminum. The exterior aluminum makes it impervious to subzero frost, lashing rains or blistering heat. Wood components are selected for quality and appearance, kiln dried and treated against moisture damage and deterioration. This marriage of two superior materials can match any colour scheme on the exterior, with a Douglas Fir interior that can be stained or painted. Bristol F r a m e The frame is manufactured using solid Douglas Fir to maximize strength and security. The exterior of the frame can also be maintenance free using a durable extruded aluminum or a solid PVC. A wide selection of options is available for both new construction and renovation needs. D o o r P a n e l s We ve got it all! Paramount s door panels include steel insulated, fibreglass smooth and fibreglass textured. The inner core of the panel is polystyrene surrounded with wood on four sides and a solid wood lock block to secure and strengthen the door s hardware. These options ensure you ll find a door that is both functional and meets your design criteria. Panels are also available in Clad Wood and all wood. H a r d w a r e Depending on which door you choose, there are several hardware options offered. We carry over 15 different finishes which are available in passages, levers, entrysets, deadbolts and multi-point lock systems. S i l l Our sill has many exciting features. This includes an all composite substrate that is impervious to water so it will not rot. A high dam overlap cap creates an improved barrier to water. There is also a simulated wood co-extruded cap finish that provides resistance to wear and offers a unique aesthetic appeal. G l a s s We offer a large selection of insulating glass to make your Paramount door even more elegant. Decorative lites are available in a variety of glass types. The caming is offered in antique black, wrought iron, platinum, brass, satin nickel, patina and chrome. S e a l s a n d H i n g e s Our doors are manufactured using a weatherstripping suitable for extreme cold, keeping a positive airtight seal that does what it should: keep the cold out and the heat in. Hinges are available in regular 4" x 4", self closing, non removable pin or ball bearing. A wide variety of finishes include pewter, brushed chrome, antiques brass, brass, or oil rubbed. Legacy

INSULATING Glass Units 101 The selection of glass in today s home must consider a number of different questions. Some of which include aesthetics, performance and comfort. The location and type of home must also be part of the equation in determining what type of glass is best suited for your home. In the selection process there are compromises that may be necessary. For example, the glass product that provides high visibility may not always provide the best solar control. Paramount can offer homeowners a wide selection of Low E and tinted products and provide you with the information you require to make the right decision. W h a t i s L o w E? Low E is a coating that is applied (usually on the inside of the outside pane) on the glass to reduce energy costs both in the winter heating season and summer cooling months. Paramount provides a number of Low E products. The three most common are Low E 272, 240 and 366. They are primarily used with argon gas and a warm edge spacer to provide a very energy efficient insulated glass unit. Ty p e s o f L o w E L o w E 2 7 2 L o w E 2 4 0 L o w E 3 6 6 272 is the Low E used predominantly in Paramount insulated glass units because it offers year-round performance and comfort. In winter, it reflects heat back into the room. In summer, it rejects the sun s heat and damaging UV rays. G l a z i n g O p t i o n s Where glare is a problem, turn to Low E 240. It controls glare but also blocks oppressive solar heat gain and maintains cool indoor glass temperatures. This is particularly effective on elevations of your home with little shade or overhang. Low E 366 delivers the perfect balance of solar control and high visibility with no room darkening tints and virtually no exterior reflectance. It provides excellent year-round comfort and reduced energy consumption for any location.
