Newsletter Christmas 2014 2013 Little Cosmos Language & Art Centre / tel: (852) 2370 1078 Dear Parents and Friends, Little Cosmos Winter Festival - Dynamic Christmas Show and Workshop Little Cosmos has been bursting full of festive cheer this year! Our Dynamic Christmas Show was a great success, with almost 50 students singing, dancing and reciting Christmas poetry. Our students also enjoyed singing, reading, baking and getting creative with arts & crafts during our Christmas Workshops. From all of us at Little Cosmos, we hope that you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Dynamic Christmas Show On Friday 19th December, almost 50 of our students performed in our annual Dynamic Christmas Show. All of the children looked so smart in their red and white Santa Clause outfits! Before we walked down to the stage, there was time for a quick practice - there was a lot to remember with, songs, poems and dances to be performed! Miss Daisy and Nicole welcomed all of the parents, and introduced our first performers, the Little Cosmos dancers, who were aged between 3 and 9. They performed a fantastic routine, professionally choreographed by Miss Orange, to a 'Christmas Dance Remix'. Next to take to the stage were our PTH students, aged between 3 and 5. They recited their festive poem, and danced enthusiastically to 'Ding Ding Dang'. Our English K3 students followed, reciting their poem, 'A Christmas Tree', and performing a lively routine to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Next, our English K2 students recited 'I Am A Little Snowman' and performed a fantastic dance routine to Frosty the Snowman! Our K1 English students rounded off the evening with their poem, 'Here Is The Chimney' and a charming dance routine to Santa Clause is Coming to Town. The evening finished with all our students and teachers coming together on the stage to sing We Wish You A Merry Christmas. We are so proud of all our students who performed with enthusiasm, energy and (most importantly) big smiles! Our staff worked very hard to set everything up and ensure the evening ran smoothly. In addition, thank you to all the parents and families who came to support the event. Everybody agreed that it was a great success, and we hope that you will join us again next year! Our PTH students practicing their dance with Miss Grace before the show!

Page 4 of 8 Christmas Workshop Between the 22nd and 31st of December, Little Cosmos hosted a series of Christmas Workshop to get us into the festive spirit! Our students enjoyed reading Christmas stories, singing carols and playing festive games in our English and PTH themed classes. Our playgroup students really enjoyed learning about Christmas too - particularly when we brought out the festive dressing up box! These Christmas ornaments will look lovely in our bedrooms! Everybody was so impressed with the festive creations of our students in the art & craft workshops. With the help of Miss Anita and Miss Rainbow, our students transformed soft clay into Christmas tree pencil holders, candy lollipops and Christmas tree decorations. And in some classes children created beautiful poinsettia baskets and festive pictures using chalk. We hope that you enjoyed decorating your home with your masterpieces! Once again our cooking workshops were very popular. We baked yummy cookies, delicious Christmas tree brownies and tasty chocolate sprinkle rods. We mixed the ingredients, kneaded the dough with our hands and carefully decorated our goodies when they had been baked. In many of our cooking classes, one of our English teachers joined in, so the children could develop their language and cooking skills simultaneously! Everybody agreed that the Christmas Workshops were lots of fun, and they definitely put us in a festive mood! We look forward to our next run of workshops in February, to celebrate Chinese New Year. We love these Christmas hats! Miss Caroline dressing up with Evie, Nicole and Howard. Miss Daisy dressing up with Andrew, Charlotte and Angel.
