My goal is to become a key decision maker, driving future strategies for Syngenta! Marc-Olivier Zwicky, Supply Graduate How does the Production & Supply Graduate Program operate? We are committed to offering individuals opportunities to broaden their skills across a variety of functions in Production & Supply on a permanent work contract. New recruits spend something between 6 and 18 months in a role to go through a full learning curve. This means that individuals will go through 2 3 different roles over 3 years. This will be based on the needs of the business at the time and the new recruit s skills and experience. In practice this means a new recruit could enter into Syngenta working on a Procurement project for 12 months, then work in a distribution role for 18 months and spend the remainder of their time in a Production & Supply planning role. What can I expect from Syngenta? We want to provide our employees with varied, interesting and challenging careers and we feel that our program offers just this. Joining our team new recruits will quickly start to work on significant and complex projects which will accelerate their learning. What will be expected of me? In return we expect committed, enthusiastic and proactive individuals who have a thirst for learning within a Production & Supply environment. Managing, Planning, Scheduling, Purchasing. Overview of roles in Production & Supply. The type and content of roles within the Production & Supply Graduate Program will be designed by the needs of the business and also the skills and capabilities of the graduates. This could include the following roles. Procurement Specialist The purpose of this role is to provide expert process and system support to the assigned Buyers (specifi cally) and Procurement (generally) and to proactively support the Buyers in the delivery of the negotiated cost savings by the timely management of administrative data and by assisting in establishing new sources of supply. In addition to manage an assigned portfolio of materials ensuring secure, on time, minimum cost of supply. Manage SAP for the assigned Buyers in the areas of Contract and Schedule creation/maintenance, Info record & source list maintenance, workfl ow completion, the resolution of Invoices blocked for payment and all related activities. Provide support for the following activities: portfolio review, supplier presentation, the implementation of procurements strategies, Contract compliance, Supplier Relations Management, Vendor Performance Management (On Time In Full and to quality standards) and internal reporting. Support procurement managers in the identifi cation and approval of alternative sources of supply by extensive use of the e-quote tool in preparing sourcing analyses, supplier research and supply scenario comparisons. Negotiation of price and delivery terms for assigned portfolio of materials. For assigned portfolio of materials document sourcing analyses and supply market key drivers. Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and internal functions. Toll Manufacturing Scheduler Customer Service Manager (CSM) The purpose of this role is to ensure customer service and supply performance is delivered by following Syngenta processes and systems; and to achieve high service level and customer satisfaction. To effectively follow the key Syngenta business processes to ensure supply performance is delivered (including where appropriate, order processing, documentation, data management, inventory control etc). Supply Chain Planner The purpose of this role is to maintain the supply plan across a defi ned group of assets, providing options to meet upsides and downsides; and to provide operational co-ordination along the supply chain. Key contacts will include the Regional Product/Brand Managers, Regional Marketing Managers, Asset Managers, Regional Procurement, Distribution Planners and Supply Chain Planners. To ensure Syngenta s license to operate is maintained by full adherence to Syngenta policies and processes. To actively communicate with market and supply contacts to identify and correct issues in a timely fashion. Develop skills and knowledge to enable CSMs to support added value activities such as forecast acquisition, projects, improvement work, logistics expertise etc. To effectively share information and resources to the overall benefi t of the customer service department and Syngenta. promised customer delivery dates as far as possible. Develop, agree and manage Tactical Supply Plans based on Differentiated Supply Principles. Ensure the optimization of inventory throughout the regional supply chain, through establishing stock targets as appropriate which meet Customer Service levels and minimize working capital. Work with the Active Ingredient (AI) Supply Chain Planner to ensure the supply of AI meets the uncertainty covered by the Regional Tactical Supply Plans. Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional commercial organization, global AI planning, regional manufacturing to enable transparency and delivery of market requirements. Ensure the operational execution of the range management process for regional products, ensuring the effi cient introduction and removal of The purpose of this role is to maintain the overall production plan across a group of tollers providing options to meet variances in demand and supply and to co-ordinate along the supply chain. Key contacts include Order Management, Manufacturing Managers, Vendor Schedulers, Supply and Distribution Planners. The creation of balanced production plans on the specifi c toller asset(s) over the current season (up to 12 months horizon). Work with formulation, fi ll and packaging (FF&P) and Supply Chain Planners (SCP) to ensure appropriate balance between manufacturing responsiveness, cost effi ciency and inventory holding. Escalate and support the resolution of toller capacity issues with the appropriate FF&P SCPs. Supply Chain Project Manager In this role you support cross functional change projects with the aim of improving supply chain performance in alignment with strategic business objectives. Support the FF&P SCPs in the development of Tactical Supply Plans (TSP). Execute the agreed TSPs. Ensure the optimization of toller inventory of components and formulated bulks to minimize working capital. Establish and maintain strong relationships with tollers, both internal and 3rd party to enable transparency and delivery of responsiveness. Be the key operational Syngenta contact with 3rd Party tollers. Manage the Plant/Unit (toller) specifi c aspects (e.g, codes) of the range management process for regional products (product life-cycle), ensuring both the effi cient introduction and removal of products where appropriate. Measure and report production performance, On Time In Full etc. to the toller review process. Support development of project business cases through assessment activities. Provide project planning and individual project team coordination. Develop and provide communications to key stakeholders regarding project status and upcoming project planning windows to ensure business partners are aware of current and projected resource commitment to them.
