He will also take part in joint field surveys with the hosting researchers, with particular reference to the study of the Pleistocene palaeosols in Sardinia. The visiting professor will hold seminars for non graduate students and students of Microbial Biotechnolgy PhD. He/she will be involved in scientific collaboration for research projects of common interest based on the ecology, evolution and genetics of wine bread and brewing yeasts. Open seminars, lectures and practicals, addressed to members of staff, students and PhD students, dealing with aspects of microbial ecology and evolution and to exchange researchers between the two Institutions involved. The candidate will give a series of seminars and practical courses to students in Agricultural and Forestry, and PhD students. Among the topics to be covered: ecology and evolution of Apoidea- the census of the species and their role in agricultural, forestry and natural ecosystems. Organization of a seminar/workshop based on a series of lectures and laboratory about "landscape design" within the first class of the Urban and Environmental Territorial Planning Programme.

Taking the reforms of the 1990s as its starting point, this course will examine the dynamics of change experienced by European countries (Belgium, England, Germany and Italy in particular) in their home care sectors. Central to the analysis are the processes of marketisation and defamilialisation of care. Besides, she/he will assist students in their final dissertation. 11 Davide Bedognetti USA Roberto MANETTI Medicina Clinica e Sperimentale The visiting professor will be active in terms of educational activities as seminars about immunogenetics, bioinformatics and oncology. The seminars will involve students and teachers of the University of Sassari. The research activities will be given by sharing his/her knowledge about bioinformatics and immunogenetics and contributing actively in terms of experimental design and data analysis to several UNISS research projects. 12 Florica Manea Romania Pier Andrea SERRA Medicina Clinica e Sperimentale The professor will be focused on the development of nanostructured carbon composites (nanotubes, graphene and fullerenes) for the development of microsensors for the detection of dopamine, ascorbic acid. Furthermore he/she will develop platinumepoxy resin composites for the detection of hydrogen peroxide, in order to optimize biosensors for the study of glucose, lactate and glutamate in physiological environment. She/he will also be involved in teaching students by holding seminars on electroanalytical techniques focused on the development of nanostructured materials and the detection of drugs on carbon-epoxy composite sensors.

1 Bernard Driessen USA Giovanni Mario CAREDDU Medicina Veterinaria The Visiting Professor will give theoretical lessons and practical demonstrations to students, trainees, lecturers and doctoral researchers in "Anesthesiology of the Animals and Compared Surgery". The lessons will focus on innovative techniques of veterinary anesthesia in different clinical and sperimental conditions, particularly on the anesthetic management of horses at risk of major blood loss and on the improvement of anesthetic gas mixtures with inert gases such as helium. She/he will also hold a seminar on topics of anesthesia and analgesia open to all concerned. 14 Sepand Rastegar Germany Claudia CROSIO Biomediche The Visting Professor will be involved in teaching and in scientific activities within the framework of activities of the PhD Programme in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology, on topics focused on the use of Danio rerio (zebrafish) as a system model, to study at the molecular level the developmental changes induced by contaminants present in Sardinian waters, including heavy metals. 15 Frank Thevenod Germany Roberto Beniamino MADEDDU Biomediche The candidate will have to hold at least two lessons for students in biological and clinical science, as well as two more specific seminars for doctorate students and researchers on issues relating to heavy metals and their biological and clinical correlations. The aim of the visit is to train to research the hosting medical staff in the field of surgery of pelvic diseases. He/she will make diagnostic and therapeutic protocols that allow early diagnosis of gynecological diseases and effective and safe treatment. The Professor will hold exercises in the operating room, teaching the minimally invasive laparoscopic pelvic endometriosis and gynecological pathologies. The lessons will be on surgery and anatomic approachs, in particular will be divided into theoretical and practical activities.
