AUTOMATIC M E T E R READING

AUTOMATIC METER READING 2 Reading of electrical energy, gas, water or heat meters is done primarily for the purpose of billing and charging the energy or water consumed in a certain time period. The usual way of doing it is by physically visiting the meters by authorized personell, visually reading the counters, and manually entering the data on paper or into a handheld computer. This is a costly, time-consuming, error-prone and fraud-prone way of getting the data on how much energy, water or gas the customers spent, and often the customers are billed for an estimated, not real consumption. There s also no possibility of real-time insight

into what s going on in the distribution network. There is a solution to these drawbacks - AMR (Automatic Meter Reading). AMR systems consist of a classic meter (or a meter with an M-Bus or Wireless M-Bus communication module), a wired or wireless device which reads the meter, software and device to read the meters in a walk-by or drive-by manner, and/or a GPRS concentrator which automatically sends the consumption and other data to the central location (AMI Advanced Metering Infrastructure). 3

01 02 HOLOSYS M-BUS PULSEREADER P2/P4 HOLOSYS WIRELESS M-BUS PULSEREADER WP1/WP2 Holosys M-Bus PulseReader is a device for reading of two (P2 model) or four (P4 model) independent utility meters (water, gas, electrical energy, etc.) by connecting to voltage-free pulse outputs. For meter reading, M-Bus system in accordance with EN 13757-2, EN 13757-3, and EN 1434-3 is used. Holosys M-Bus PulseReader is represented as two (P2 model) or four (P4 model) independent M-Bus slave devices in the M-Bus system. Holosys Wireless M-Bus PulseReader is a radio module used for radio reading of utility devices (water, gas, electrical energy, heating, etc.). The module is capable of reading meters equipped with voltage-free pulse outputs. Depending on the model, one (model WP1) or two (model WP2) meters can be read simultaneously. The Wireless M-Bus communication protocol (EN 13757-4 and OMS) ensures compatibility with a wide range of the equipment, and IP68 protection allows the module to be fully functional even in water-filled manholes. 5

03 04 HOLOSYS WIRELESS M-BUS RECEIVER WR HOLOSYS WIRELESS M-BUS REPEATER WREP 6 Holosys Wireless M-Bus Receiver is a device which extends wired M-Bus installations with Wireless M-Bus modules (EN 13757-4 and OMS). Mapping wireless telegrams to primary and secondary M-Bus addresses allows integration of Wireless M-Bus meters to majority of existing and new wired M-Bus installations. The device is powered via M-Bus so no external or battery power supply is needed, and all major M-Bus master units are supported. It makes the device especially suitable for building large fixed wireless networks for automatic remote meter reading (AMR fixed networks). Holosys Wireless M-Bus Repeater WREP is a battery powered radio device with autonomous operation of up to 15 years, which provides radio range expansion of other Wireless M-Bus Modules. The device provides re-emitting of radio telegrams received from up to four Wireless M-Bus Modules and possibility to reemit radio telegrams sent from the other Wireless M-Bus Repeater WREP devices (WREP chain). IP68 protection allows for full functionality even in the harshest conditions.

05 06 HOLOSYS WIRELESS M-BUS TEMPERATURE SENSOR WTS Holosys Wireless M-Bus Temperature Sensor is a radio module that provides wireless temperature measurement according to the Wireless M-Bus standard (EN 13757-4 and OMS). The device is equipped with temperature sensor probe on a cable and provides accurate measurement of environment temperature (±0.5 C accuracy in temeprature range -10 C to +85 C). Besides temperature, it can optionally read states from two digital inputs (CH1 and CH2). The Wireless M-Bus communication protocol ensures compatibility with a wide range of equipment HOLOSYS WIRELESS M-BUS GASPULSAR Holosys GasPulsar is a compact Wireless M-Bus module for reading various Itron (G4 - G25) and Elster (G4 - G25) gas meters. Compact design with built-in reed sensor ensures easy mounting and maintenance. GasPulsar can be mounted on gas meter, configured, calibrated, and activated before it is shipped to consumer s premises, which makes mounting of gas meters much simpler. Wireless M-Bus standard ensures compatibility with devices from various manufacturers. 7

07 08 HOLOSYS WIRELESS M-BUS HYDROPULSAR HOLOSYS M250GL GPRS M-BUS COMPUTER 8 Holosys Wireless M-Bus HydroPulsar is a compact radio module for direct mounting on Sensus mechanical water meters (series 120, 405, 420, 620 and 820). Built-in inductive sensor ensures accurate meter readings and compact design makes installation and maintenance easy. HydroPulsar can be mounted on water meter, configured, calibrated, and activated before it is shipped to consumer s premises, which makes installation of water meters much simpler. Wireless M-Bus standard ensures compatibility with a wide range of AMR equipment. Holosys M-Bus M250GL is a digital M-Bus computer and M-Bus master device. Because of its capacity of up to 250 M-Bus slave devices and up to 4GB memory, it is appropriate for large M-Bus installations. M-Bus 250GL s different possibilities of recording the data, device programming capabilities and versatile communication interfaces, make it easy to integrate into user s specific business processes and technical environment. It is also easily expandable to Wireless M-Bus communication with Holosys Wireless M-Bus Receiver WR.

09 10 HOLOSYS GTL2222AD GPRS TELEMETRY UNIT HOLOSYS WMG WIRELESS M-BUS GPRS RECEIVER Holosys GTL2222AD is a device which is used for remote control and monitoring of industrial processes. The device is equipped with two digital inputs, two digital outputs, two analog inputs and two analog outputs, which can be configured and integrated with the rest of the system. The device is also equipped with two serial ports. One of the serial ports is configured for communication with electronic gas volume correctors (EVCs) such as Instromet, Elster, Actaris, Dresser, Uniflo,... so the device is an ideal choice for installation in gas distribution infrastructure (large industrial consumers, pressure reduction stations, etc.). Wireless M-Bus GPRS Receiver is a compact device suitable for fixed AMR network installations, consisting of M250GL and WR, ready for mounting and installation. Embedded Wireless M-Bus Receiver receives the data from remote Wireless M-Bus transmitters and stores them into local memory. Wired M-Bus devices are also easily connected. The data can be periodically sent to a central location via TCP/ IP (FTP, SMTP) and/or accessed from central location by request. 9

11 12 HOLOSYS ACTIVE ANTENNA - HOLOSYS 868 AAO HOLOSYS RADIOSPHERE PDA 10 Holosys Active Antenna - Holosys 868 AAO is intended to be used for M2M 868MHz ISM band systems. It is specifically designed to work in urban environments, and for outdoor mounting. It provides great immunity from near GSM base station signals and other similar noise sources. Additional external supply is not necessary since it is powered from Holosys Wireless M-Bus Receiver WR. Holosys RadioSpherePDA is a handheld device with preinstalled software for reading water, gas, electricity, heat, and other meters, with or without radio modules installed. Apart from automatic wireless reading, RadioSpherePDA also supports manual input of meter data where no radio connection is available. It works in conjunction with M-Centar software.

13 14 HOLOSYS M-CENTAR HOLOSYS HOLOAMR Holosys M-Centar is a Windows PC software application for remote meter reading of gas, water, electricity and heat consumption. M-Centar supports several methods of collecting meter data: M-Bus reading, wireless reading (supports Wireless M-Bus, Prios, Wavenis, SensusRF,... with RadioSpherePDA), GPRS, FTP and manual. With the ability to export the data from the meters, M-Centar becomes a central point in a remote meter reading system HoloAMR is a web-based software for meter-data acquisition and visual presentation of energy and water consumption. It is primarily intended for fixed network Automatic Meter Reading scenarios, with no limits regarding the frequency of data reception or the number of meters monitored. It is intended to be used in electricity, gas, water or heat distribution networks, or in companies who want to monitor internal energy usage for energy management and efficiency purposes. HoloAMR is al so available in SaaS (Software as a Service) option. 11
