The S series. The S series results from the many years of experience and the excellent know-how coming from more than 4 million FPT engines so far manufactured for light commercial vehicles. To deliver optimum efficiency and minimum oil consumption together with long service intervals, S Diesel engines feature the last generation Common Rail, four valves per cylinder, maintenance-free hydraulic valve and different air handling systems. For this series, CEGR (Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technology has been recognized as the best solution to make engines compliant with Euro IV and Euro V standards. Finally, these engines are also available in the CNG version, which allows vehicles to be classified EEV (Enhanced Environmental Vehicle), as their emissions values are much below Euro IV and Euro V. Thanks to their Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT), low weight and a maximum torque developed at low speed and available over a wide speed range, they stand out for superb performance combined with an extremely low fuel consumption. Best in class intervals for oil changes (up to 150.000 km) and oil consumption provide significant advantages as of maintenance costs and vehicle down-time. The C series engines are available in both Diesel and CNG versions, in a range from 180 to 415 kw and are compliant with Euro V and EEV standards.
