Meredith Mass Transit Web Client User Guide For Ad Hoc Accounts Mass Transit is an easy to use, flexible Web based file transfer program. A temporary (Ad Hoc) account has been created for you on the Meredith Corporation Mass Transit server. This account will be valid for three days after creation. Any files not retrieved within three days will be automatically removed from the server. Minimum browser versions for Windows: Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3, or Chrome 4.0 Minimum browser version for Macintosh : Safari 3, Firefox 3, Chrome 4.0 If the files to be transferred exceed 2 GB in size then you will need to download and install the Mass Transit Web Assistant Plugin. In that case please contact your Meredith employee representative and/or your internal Tech Support for assistance. Getting Started 1. Check the Inbox or Junk Mail folder of your email client. You will receive an email from masstransit@meredith.com. An example of this email is below:

If you are unable to find the email from masstransit@meredith.com, please contact your Meredith employee representative and/or your internal Tech Support. Companies sometimes have external email filters that interfere with the delivery of this email message. 2. In the email, read the instructions on how to Download and Send files via Meredith Mass Transit Server. Then click on the automatic login link (it begins with https://). You will see a web page like this: There are four choices available to an Ad-Hoc account, each of which has its own button: Send Files: upload files to be sent to the Meredith employee who created the Ad-Hoc account. Download Files: retrieve files that have been sent to you. My Account: This option is not relevant and should be ignored. Logout: exit the Mass Transit server. Download Files 1. Click on Download Files You will see a screen showing files that have been sent to you: You may individually select which files to download, using the box to-the-left of the file name.

If you wish to remove a file without downloading it, click the blue X in the Remove column. 2. After making your file selections you will have the option to compress files before downloading. If the files are in a compressed format already then you should deselect this option. You can have a significant delay if you try to select this option when it is not needed. If the files to be downloaded exceed 2 GB in size, then you will need to download and install the Mass Transit Web Assistant Plugin. If that is the case, please contact your Meredith employee representative and/or your internal Tech Support for assistance. 3. Click Download Selected, or click Download All. The files will download to the default location that is set up in your web browser. 1. Click on Send Files You will see the following: Send Files 2. Select the Meredith recipient for your files by clicking the down-arrow in the To box. You can only send files to the Meredith employee who created your temporary Ad-Hoc account. You must select the drop-down arrow in the To field to send files to the Meredith recipient who created your Ad-Hoc account. If you do not select the name, your files will transmit, but will not be received! Your temporary Ad-Hoc account is only valid for 3 days. If you need to send files to Meredith Corporation after your account has expired, a Meredith employee will have to create another temporary account for you. 3. Click the Select Files button 4. Select a file that you want to send (not illustrated). 5. After a file has been selected, click Open (not illustrated). To send multiple files click Select Files and repeat the process of selecting your file and clicking Open, as needed. If you wish to remove a file from the list, click the blue X in the Remove column to the right of that file name.

6. When you are finished selecting the files, you may optionally send an email-like message to the recipient. Below the To: box, you will see the following: If you check the box, you will then see the following screen, allowing you to include a personalized message along with the files: 7. When all the files have been selected for transfer, click Send. If the files to be sent exceed 2 GB in size, then you will need to download and install the Mass Transit Web Assistant Plugin. If that is the case, please contact your Meredith employee representative and/or your internal Tech Support for assistance. A window will pop up in your browser showing file transfer progress: 8. When the upload completes, click Close in the upper right hand corner of that window. Unless you have installed the Mass Transit Assistant Plugin, you may only send files (not folders) and you may select only one file at a time after clicking Browse. If you need to send many files or folders, it is recommended that you either place the files/folders into a zip file prior to sending or install the Mass Transit Web Assistant Plug-in. Logout Click on Logout This will log you out of the Mass Transit server.
