Applicability of the EPD The Declaration is applicable to Green Aluminium Extrusions - AA 663 produced by Gulf Extrusions CO. The renewable energy use in the production stage is 33186 MJ. Product Characterization Standards Application Technical Properties The product is extruded aluminium profiles. It complies both in chemical composition and physical properties as per AA 663. Extrusion Dimension Tolerances: BS EN 755-9:28, BS EN 122-2:28 Anodise Finish: Qualanod, BS EN 12373-1 21 - clause 7 (BS:6161 Part 6), BS: 3987 Clause 3,4,5,6 Appendix - A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L Powder Coat Finish: Qualicoat, BS:6496 - Clause 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, ISO 236/2813/2492931 Industrial applications Automotive, Marine, Transport, Machine parts, Standard Profiles, Furniture, HVAC, Locomotive, Scaffolding, Medical etc... Architectural applications Railing fences, Light fixtures, Rolling shutters, Kitchen, Unitized Curtain wall, Partitions, Sun breakers/aero foil, Glazed curtain wall etc BS EN 755-2:28 - Mechanical Properties - Aluminium & Aluminium Alloys - Extruded rod/bar, tube & profiles. BS EN 573-3:29 Chemical Composition - Aluminium & Aluminium Alloys. The weight of the extruded profiles varies from.2 to 28 kg/m, with a length of 3 m to 18 m Production Manufacturing On site Manufacturing Processes include Extrusion and Surface treatment (Powder coating or anodising).the Extrusion Process involves Billet Log Preparation, Billet Loading, Billet Preheating, Die Loading, Extrusions, Cooling, Stretching, Inspection, Cutting and Ageing. Powder Coating involves Pretreatment, Powder Spraying, Curing and Quality Checking. Anodising involves Pretreatment, Anodising, Colouring, Sealing, and Quality checking. The post-consumer recycled content of the product is 3. Packaging Packaging involves standard techniques for packaging and container loading of aluminium profiles which aims at protecting the profiles till their use by the customer. Aluminium profiles are packed in bundles and clubbed together to form crates in accordance with the logistics requirements of global export markets. EHS Gulf Extrusions is ISO 141:24 certified. The guidelines maintained at Gulf Extrusions are: to establish frameworks for HSE management systems, to Contribute towards the protection of workers from hazards and to eliminate work related injuries, ill health, diseases, incidents and contribute to the protection of the environment from hazards. No further health protection measures beyond the regulated measures for manufacturing firms are necessary during the production process. Installation Installation description There are no considerable impacts associated with the installation of the material at the project site. Packaging The paper used in packaging of aluminium profiles can be recycled, and wood used for making crated can be supplied back to us if in usable state. EHS There are no health or environment related issues with respect to installation.. Use Operation No operation impacts, only if the material is being fabricated at the project site, care is to be taken to collect all the waste such as aluminium chips, etc and dispose it as per standard norms. Maintenance There are no impacts with respect to maintenance of the aluminium extrusions. Only routine cleaning and maintenance is sufficient to preserve the metal. The surface of aluminium can be treated in various ways to protect and enhance its appearance, cleaning with solvents such as water, water with mild soap or detergent, kerosene, turpentine, wax based polish, abrasive wax. After applying these cleaning agents, it is suggested to wash the surface of aluminium thoroughly 3

and dry with clean cloth to prevent streaking. Service Life EHS For aluminium the surface life is more than 25 years No environment, health and safety issues are associated with use of the extruded aluminium. End of Life Deconstruction Re-Use Recycling Disposal It depends, as the collection scenario may vary from user to user. Considering an example of MASDAR City program, it sets a target collection rate to 1 %/. The complete material can be reused for the same or any other applcation needs, but it has to go through a recycling phase, and then brought back to use. 1 % of the material can be recycled, once the metal has finished its end of life, then the metal is either transported to a smelter or a refiner for recycling. Care should be taken to prevent disposing off aluminium to landfills. The best way to dispose material which has finished its End of life is to recycle it back and bring it in use. 4

Declared Unit The declared unit refers to 1 tonne of Green Aluminium Extrusions - AA 663. System Boundary Flow Chart System Boundary Check Box System Boundaries & Scenarios The system includes cradle-to-customer production. A recycling EoL scenario of 1% recycling rate was used. All processes, from the extraction of raw materials, through product manufacture and delivery to were included, including the recycling of aluminium and a credit for the avoided production of primary aluminium at end of life. Data Quality The age of the background LCA data is less than 8 years. Foreground data comes directly from Gulf Extrusions, and is compliant with ISO 144-44 data practices. In addition, data was quality checked against standard extrusion process data for plausability. Methodological Principles Allocation procedures in the background data follow the ISO 144-44 requirements. In the foreground model, mass allocation was used to allocate between the aluminium product and scrap, including both sold and remelted scrap. The recycling potential was calculated according to the requirement of the PCR document. EoL credits End of Life credits reflect the avoided production of primary aluminium in subsequent life cycles. The credit is dependent on the quantity of recycled aluminium, based on a recycling rate of 1%. 5

Contributing Factors Cradle to Customer (excluding End of Life) GWP: Global Warming Potential; Energy nr: energy from non-renewable resources; Energy R: energy from renewable sources; ODP: Ozone Depletion Potential; AP: Acidification Potential; EP: Eutrification Potential; POCP: Photochemical Ozone Creation Potential. All process stages excluding the end-of-life credits add up to 1% of each of the burdens. Interpretation The main impact in the life cycle of the extruded aluminium profile is from the input of aluminium billet. Within the manufacturing process, the main impact arises from the energy use during extrusion. The transport of raw materials to the production site, and the transport of the finished product to, have a small impact on the total results. The cradle-to-gate energy consumption of the extruded profile is 1.2443E5 MJ. Over the whole life cycle (cradle-to-grave) this is reduced to 3455 MJ, due to the credit for avoided production at End-of-Life. Correspondingly, the total global warming potential of the extruded profile over its life cycle is 2251.3 kg CO2 eq. Recycled content (post consumer) [%]: 3 Carbon footprint* CO2 eq. per kg]: 7218.6 Share of bio-based content (-1): Share of renewable energy* (-1):.2667 * Cradle to construction site 7
