system monitor INTRODUCTION. We know It is crucial that you are able to locate and resolve problems quickly to minimise downtime. System Monitor is a collective suite of products designed specifically for the intelligent monitoring and management of your digital signage and kiosk networks. 4

USES. System monitor is made up of 3 components that protect your entire network, small or large. It can therefore be added to individual units, kiosks and screens located anywhere in the world which can then be managed remotely from a head office location. KEY FEATURES. Lock down of all remote devices to ensure no unwanted/authorised access to your network. Fault triggers and event alerting allowing constant monitoring and diagnosis before downtime occurs. Secure connection to all of your remote devices, even those behind a firewall. Extensive reporting system. All activities are logged and periodically sent back to the central server network. Set up alerts via email and text to engineers and technicians for a rapid response. Integral support and management ticketing system to provide effective management of support across your entire network. 5

HOW IT WORKS. There are 3 compontents that work together to provide full protection. SITE MANAGER. Site Manager sits at the heart of any network and is typically installed at the main/head office. Site Manager continually assesses and records events being executed on each individual screen within your network and alerts staff via text or email, to any abnormal incidents, potential faults, device failures and unsuccessful deployments. When problems do arise, Site Manager provides vital remote access to individual screens. This means support can be given by taking over the operation of a particular screen. This feature also provides staff with a valuable snapshot into each player by accessing vital statistics such as uptime, memory, HD space, screenshot, audit trail, past problems raised and resolution times. PLUS! NETWORK. Also known as the Acquire Network, this is our highly secure and resilient network built specifically for rapid deployment of content with maximum security. Remote access to individual screens is achieved by having each unit on the Acquire Network. 6 UNIT WATCHDOG. The last component of System Monitor is the Unit Watchdog. Installed onto each individual machine powering your screens, the Unit Watchdog is the proactive system responsible for preventing unwanted access reducing the risk of security breaches. The operating system gets locked down by Unit Watchdog to prevent access to data, files or programmes contained on the unit. It also prevents any banned programs being installed or running, and continually monitors key applications, devices and systems to ensure that your screens remain secure and running. Failures are logged periodically and are reported back to head office via email or text.

SITE MANAGER EXPLAINED. Site Manager is the essential heartbeat of your network constantly monitoring and sending status reports back to head office. This allows you to effectively manage your screens and kiosks one from central location. Monitor individual devices from the central dashboard which you can configure to show information including, summary data, traffic lights system, filtered lists, live tickets and even live screenshots of the systems ensuring effective prioritisation. Set up alerts to automatically raise support tickets and contact engineers for a fast response and resolution. Rapid data transfer enables you to view detailed information about your kiosks in near real-time, whether you have 1 or 10,000 systems installed. Installation information, asset details, audit trails, incident information, near live screenshots and more are instantly available to view. Site specific information can also be accessed, giving fast access to contact information for site visits and calls. Even view the installations and their statuses on a map! The Live View of remote screens enable engineers to check the operation of systems, whilst remote desktop connection enables full remote control, without end users seeing the support in action. High speed encrypted file transfer and program access allows for quick updates to be made to applications and services and to retrieve log files. OTHER FEATURES INCLUDE: RSS Feeds - Regularly provides an overview of the status of the remote devices which can easily be accessed from RSS compatible device, such as a mobile phone or desktop. Geo-Positioning - See the status of all remote devices live on Google Maps. Site Information - Fast access to site contact information including address, contact telephone number and even Google Maps and directions. Asset Tracking - Track maintenance costs, warranty expiration dates and product upgrades, which will also notify you of any changes. Secure Remote Access - All access to remote devices are logged against users in an audit trail. User accounts can be set to allow different access levels to particular features. Fast Access - Optimised connections and data means you can access information about your network within seconds. Ticketing - Built-in ticketing system provides micromanagement control over the support flow, ensuring staff are working only on devices they are responsible for. Can also be integrated with 3rd party Ticketing Systems for manual management of support. Fault Warning Alerts - Multiple levels of alerts can be raised through patterns of faults occurring on a single device. Logged events are matched and graded against their allied faults, or over a period of time, enabling high or low priorities to be assigned to the fault types. Auto Resolution - Automatically resolve and auto close certain issues. Instead of initially logging the problem the system will resolve the issue quickly but will keep a log of all activities. 7

PLUS! NETWORK EXPLAINED. The PLUS! Network is a secure network purposely designed for the safe transfer of data from your screens delivered directly and securely to you. Our network is more than a just a safe way to deploy content; it allows you to obtain vital information about the current status of displays or kiosks anywhere in the world. With advanced monitoring and reporting features you can track deployments, see what is being displayed on any screen, and even gain remote access to a system in order to resolve any issues that may arise. The PLUS! Network is comprised of a number of different distribution servers. Using all of the advantages of broadcast technology, such as Satellite, it also utilises any TCP/IP connection such as, ADSL, 3G and EDGE. The PLUS! Network will then push your content from your head office across the distribution servers. Content is also checked for viruses and verified before being delivered to specified players simultaneously via multiple ISPs, data centres and backbones as fast as your connection will allow. Content DNA matching identifies only relevant content to be transferred, minimising transfer time and maximising efficiently. Site Manager PLUS! Network Watchdog Your PC The Internet PC Player OTHER FEATURES INCLUDE: Maximised security. Resilient distribution technology. Rapid deployment times. Limited downtime. Remote monitoring to monitor issues. Remote access to fix issues. Simultaneous file transfers and deployment. Comprehensive status history log. Multi-user access. Remote live viewing of screens. Seamless integration with player for full remote support. Alert you to any issues. 8

WATCHDOG EXPLAINED. Provides valuable monitoring, automatic recovery, and secure remote support functions for your remote devices. Secure your remote touch screen devices with Unit Watchdog by preventing unauthorised access to the computer or even hacking. Watchdog is an advanced application designed for Windows (7 and above) which is installed directly onto your units or devices providing a vital defence and peace of mind. Our clients include well-known banks and retail brands, as a result of having passed stringent security PEN(etration) testing. To ensure that you always have your finger on the pulse, Watchdog will regularly communicate with you via the PLUS! Network. Acting as a consistent Heartbeat you can obtain live information, alerts and remote connectivity. And because it includes remote support access (Remote Desktop viewing and control, Remote File Transfer, Multicast updates and Remote Command prompt), it also encrypts all the communications and provides secure access onto your remote devices. OTHER FEATURES INCLUDE: System Information - Provides a quick look-up for uptime, total reboots, unexpected reboots, connectivity status and screen resolution. Network Information - Show the time of the last email, the time of scheduled emails, unit names, target email address, network connection status and IP address. Recent Alerts - Displays a snapshot of the most recent alerts e.g. HDD over temperature, processor temperature etc. System Log - Provides a full audit trail of every tracked event on the unit by timeline, enabling fast tracking of faults by your developers or support staff. Password Protection - All access to remote devices are logged against users. Units are securely protected by a unique password which can be used. Automatic Clock Updates - In the instance of BIOS battery failure or hacking attempts the system clock is regularly checked and updated to ensure accurate reporting and logging continues. Automatic Software Updates - All Watchdog functions are automatically updated as new versions become available via the network. Automatic Volume Control - Voice prompts and commands are useful for visually impaired users. Volume Control will automatically increase and reduce the volume to match the surrounding noise. Heartbeat - Throughout the day your devices will regularly connect to the PLUS! Network servers to confirm successful operation, to upload any error information and perform a number of housekeeping duties. Remote Reboot - If you need to reboot your unit to make software updates or for servicing reasons, a reboot can be done easily and remotely without having to visit the unit. Monitored Levels - Provides support teams with an instant view of all core monitored levels so that issues can be located and resolved quickly. Automatic Firewall Management - Automatically configure and control Windows Firewall and any upnp enabled firewall/routers to provide instant changes for remote access. API (Developer Access) - Provides a method that your kiosk developers can interface to the System Watchdog program for logging or monitoring events, connecting to specific hardware devices on a common interface and more. Triggers - Get alerts relating to any changes or errors that occur. For example, printer issues, changing to the operating system or problems with hardware or software. Programs & Application Settings - Block programs and Apps that you don t want running and manage those that need to be running in order for your unit to work correctly.
