1 Introduction This document is a step by step guide designed for use by support agents to setup a test environment for Intel Unite within an enterprise. This document covers the following: Unite Server Preparation: Web Server Setup Domain Setup DNS DHCP Certificate Authority Configuring IIS Microsoft SQL Installation Once the Server has been prepared, the Intel Unite software will be installed. 2 Unite Server Preparation 2.1 Web Server Setup 1. On the server machine, go to server manager and click on the Manage menu and select Add Roles and Features. 2. The Add Roles and Feature Wizard opens, click on Next to start installing Roles, Role Services or features that are required. Page 6 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

3. Select the Server Selection option. Choose Select a server from the server pool. Select the server in the Server pool and click Next to continue. 4. Start Adding Roles: Web Server (IIS) and add the features that are required for Web Server. Click on the Add Features button. 5. Click on Features in the left menu, include.net Framework 3.5 Features and add the following under.net Framework 4.5 Features: ASP.NET 4.5, WCF Services, HTTP Activation. 6. Click on Role Services in the in the left menu. Check Web Server, Common HTTP Features, and Default Document. 7. Click Next to continue. 8. Click Next again to confirm installation selections. 9. NOTE:.Net 3.5 might give an error during installation. Provide alternate source path: If the target computer does not have access to Windows Update. Click the Specify an alternate source path link to specify the path to the \sources\sxs folder on the installation media. REFERENCE: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn482071.aspx 2.2 Domain Setup 1. Open the Control Panel. Navigate to Network and Internet. Select Network Connections. Right Click on Ethernet and select Properties. 2. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). And Click on the OK button. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 9 of 51

5. Add the computer name as shown below and click on OK. 6. Give the server system a static IP address and rename the server. 7. In the Roles list select Active Directory Domain Services then Next. The Add Roles and Features Wizard will appear. Click on the Add Features button. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 11 of 51

8. Click Next till you get to the installation dialog box and click on Install. 9. Use the server manager to promote the server to Domain Controller. The post deployment configuration will provide a message to promote the server to a domain controller. Click on Promote the server to a domain controller to start the AD Domain services Configuration Wizard. Page 12 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

10. On the AD Domain Services Configuration Wizard, provide a domain name and click Next. 11. Choose the forest functional level and domain functional level and provide a DSRM password in the Password field, retype the password in the Confirm Password field then click Next. (For the Domain Controller Capabilities: Global Catalogue is chosen by default/. You may uncheck DNS so that it can be added manually in the next stage). 12. A DNS delegation can be created/specifies after configuring DNS. Click Next. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 13 of 51

13. Provide the NETBIOS name in the next screen and click Next. 14. In the next screen, specify the location for DB, log files and SYSVOL then click Next. 15. Review your selections and click Next to go to the Prerequisite Check screen. Page 14 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

16. Click on Install once all prerequisite checks have passed successfully to begin the installation. 17. Close the dialog box after installation. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 15 of 51

2.3 DNS 1. Under the Tools menu, select DNS and press the Enter key. 2. Expand the domain under DNS and under Forward Lookup Zones, right click on the domain and click on Other New Records. Page 16 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

3. Select a resource record and click the Create Record button. 4. Provide the domain name as IntelUniteDemo.com, service as _uniteservice, protocol as_tcp, and port number as 443 and the servers FQDN for host offering the service. Click on OK. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 17 of 51

2.4 DHCP 1. Use server manager to setup DHCP by selecting it from Add roles and Features. Complete the DHCP post deployment Configuration by clicking on Complete DHCP Configuration in the All Servers Task Details. 2. You will see the following screen. Click on Next. 3. Provide the admin credentials to authorize DHCP in the AD domain Services and click on Commit. 4. You will receive a status screen which will show the progress of the post install configuration steps. Click on Close. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 19 of 51

5. After closing the DHCP Post Install configuration wizard click on the Tools menu and select DHCP to activate scope. 6. Expand DHCP and right click on IPV4 and select New Scope. Page 20 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

7. Click Next on the New Scope Wizard. 8. Provide a name and description for the scope and click Next. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 21 of 51

9. Provide the Start and End IP addresses and click Next. 10. Add any exceptions to reserve IP for servers or other machines which might need static IP and then click Next. Page 22 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

11. Enter the duration of lease and click on Next. 12. Select configure options. Click on Next. 13. Add an IP address for the router that is used by clients and click Next. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 23 of 51

2.5 Certificate Authority 1. Select Active Directory Certificate Services from the Add roles and Features Wizard. 2. Click on the Add Features button. Page 26 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

3. Click Next till you get to the Select Role Services Section. Select Certification Authority and Certificate Enrollment Web Service and then proceed by clicking Next. 4. Confirm installation selections and click Install. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 27 of 51

5. Close the wizard after the installation, then configure the AD Certificate Services. 6. Provide the admin credentials to configure the role services and click Next. 7. Select the role Services and click Next. Page 28 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

8. Chose Enterprise CA and click Next. 9. Choose Root CA and click Next. 10. Select Create a new private key and click Next. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 29 of 51

11. Select the cryptographic options and click Next. 12. Specify the name of the CA and click Next. 13. Enter the validity period and click Next. Page 30 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

2.6 Configuring IIS 1. To configure IIS, Click on the Tools menu, then click on Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager to open a new window. 2. In the IIS manager window, click on the server on the left pane and select Server Certificates and in the Actions pane select create domain certificate and complete the required fields. On the left pane, expand Sites and click on Default Website. On the right pane- Actions, select Bindings located under Edit. 3. Click on Add in the site bindings window. 4. Complete the dialog box. Click on the OK button. Reference: Windows Server Library link Installing IIS on Windows Server 2012 NOTE: About port 443: The Intel Unite web service communicates with the Intel Unite clients and Hubs using port 443, make sure this port is enabled as mentioned above. 3 Microsoft SQL Installation 3.1 SQL Installation 1. Run the SQL server setup and open the SQL server installation Center. Click on Installation on the left pane and choose New SQL Server stand-alone or add features to an existing installation. 2. Provide a product key, accept the license terms and click Next. 3. Select Use Microsoft Update to check for updates (recommended) to check for updates and click Next. 4. Click next to SQL checks for product updates. Click Next. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 35 of 51

5. Click on Next after the set up files are installed. 6. Click Next after correcting the potential problems for installation. Page 36 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

7. Select SQL Server Feature Installation and click Next. 8. Under the feature selection, select Database Engine Services, management tools- Complete and click Next. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 37 of 51

9. Specify the name and instance ID for the SQL server and click Next. 10. Specify the service accounts and click Next to continue. 11. Select the database engine authentication mode and click Next. Page 38 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

4 Installation of Unite Server software 4.1 Unite Server Software Installation 1. Open the Installers folder to find the windows installer files for the Server software. 2. Double-Click on the Intel Unite Server to open the setup dialog box. Click on Next. Page 40 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

3. After accepting the terms in the License agreement, click on Next. 4. For the database server settings, provide the service account details and test the connection. After the connection is a success click on Next. 5. Click on OK. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 41 of 51

6. On the next screen, expand Intel Unite then Database and select Will be installed on local hard drive. 7. Click Next and then Install to begin the installation. Page 42 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

8. Click on Finish to exit the wizard once the installation is completed. 9. Verify the installation by accessing the admin portal using a web browser https://serverfqdn/admin The page verifies the server software installation. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 43 of 51

5 Hub Setup and Software Installation 5.1 Hub Set Up and Installation 1. Join the hub to the same domain and open the installers for the hub software. Page 44 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

2. Double-Click on Intel Unite Hub to open the setup and click Next to continue. 3. After agreeing to the License terms, Connect to the Pin server screen comes up on the dialog box. Select Automatically Find Server if a DNS service record is used. Otherwise select Specify Server manually enter the PIN server hostname and the public key. Click Next to continue. 4. Choose a destination folder to install and click Next. 5. Check Launch Intel Unite and click on Finish. 6. A privacy statement dialog box opens up and you can choose your option here. Click on Yes. Page 46 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

7. A windows security alert might show that Intel Unite is being blocked. Allow the app to communicate on domain networks. Click on Allow Access. 8. After this, the hub will be able to contact the PIN server and obtain a PIN. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 47 of 51

6 Client Software Installation and Usage 6.1 Client Setup and Installation 1. On the client system, open a web browser and type: https://serverfqdn/download to get to the download page. 2. Click on the Windows button to download the client software. Run client software to open the Setup dialog box. Click on the Next button. Page 48 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite

3. Accept the License terms and choose the destination folder where the software will be installed. Click on Next. 4. Click on Install to begin the installation. Intel Unite Intel Confidential Page 49 of 51

5. After the installation is completed, click on Finish to exit. 6. When Intel Unite app is launched on the client, you will see connect to screen box where a PIN can be entered. Enter the PIN displayed on the hub to connect. Page 50 of 51 Intel Confidential Intel Unite
