Individual customer requirements are met through tailored service agreements Gaseous Fire Suppression INERGEN INERGEN has been extensively used throughout the world as a preferred gaseous fire suppression agent for over 16 years and remains the longest surviving Halon replacement on the market to date. INERGEN is a mixture of three inert, naturally occurring gases: 52% nitrogen, 40% argon, 8% carbon dioxide. The discharge mixture of INERGEN makes it unique as no other inert gas has the unique ability to rapidly extinguish a fire yet at the same time provide a safe environment for any person within the occupied area by actually decreasing cardiac distress and maintaining arterial blood oxygenation and mental performance in low oxygen levels. As INERGEN is derived from gases present in the earth s atmosphere, it exhibits a no ozone depleting potential, nor does it contribute to global warming. Unlike some chemical gaseous fire suppression agents, INERGEN does not, and could never create a reaction with a fire to create extremely harmful toxic or corrosive by-products. Novec1230 Novec1230 is the next generation of chemical fire suppressant in place of FM200. Novec 1230 systems are designed to extinguish fires involving flammable liquids, gases and electrical equipment. As a clean agent, it leaves no residue, it is ideally suited to protect applications where high margins of safety and long term sustainability are considered important. The Global Warming Potential (GWP) of Novec 1230 is 1 (relative to CO 2 ). Novec 1230 is supplied in lightweight cylinders with a small footprint that requires minimal storage space. It has a boiling point of 49 C and therefore exists as a liquid at room temperature. Super-pressurised with nitrogen to 25bar it rapidly extinguishes a fire through a combination of heat absorption (its main action) and some chemical interference with the flame. Novec 1230 vaporises easily upon discharge, making it an effective total flooding agent for a variety of hazards. CO 2 Systems Carbon dioxide is the original clean agent that is traditionally used for total flooding applications to suppress fires in unmanned areas involving deep seated Class A fire risks. CO 2 is the original clean agent that suppresses fire without leaving behind an agent to damage sensitive equipment. Tyco can provide high pressure cylinder systems and low pressure tank systems for the protection of engine rooms, pump rooms and machinery spaces. It is essential that all personnel be trained on CO 2 systems to ensure their safety. They must be warned not to enter the hazard area during discharge or until the area is cleared. Watermist Fire Fighting System Watermist is a versatile and highly efficient fire-fighting medium. What differentiates Watermist from traditional water based systems is its reduced droplet size. When a droplet of water vaporises, it expands by some 1,600 times. Because heat absorption is a function of surface area and not volume, smaller droplets mean more surface area and therefore faster heat absorption. Watermist has the unique ability to deliver water as a fine atomised mist. This mist is quickly converted to steam that smothers the fire and prevents further oxygen from reaching it. At the same time, the evaporation creates a significant cooling effect of combustion gases and blocks the transfer of radiant heat. In this way, Watermist combines the fire suppression properties of both conventional water-based deluge or sprinkler systems and gaseous fire suppression systems. Branded as ProtectoMist Low Pressure Water Mist and MicroDrop High Pressure Water Mist, Tyco have designed and developed both systems to deliver droplet momentum to the seat of the fire.

Waterspray Fire Fighting System Tyco introduced, pioneered and developed the world s first medium and high velocity waterspray systems under the brand names of ProtectoSpray and MulsiFyre. Both systems are designed to extinguish oil fires and fires involving flammable liquids and gases by the use of water only. ProtectoSpray Medium Velocity This system is ideal for the protection of indoor process areas involved in the production, storage and loading of highly inflammable and flammable liquids and gases. Medium Velocity waterspray nozzles can also be used with low expansion foam for small storage tank bund protection, to suppress hazardous chemical vapours that may occur as a result of storage tank rupture. MulsiFyre High Velocity Waterspray This system is extensively used throughout industry to protect a wide variety of plant equipment and hazardous materials involving oils with a flash point above 66 C. Typical applications include boiler feed pumps, diesel engines, hydraulic oil systems and steel mills. The MulsiFyre system applies water in the form of a conical spray consisting of droplets of water travelling at high velocity. These droplets bombard the surface of the oil to form a mixture of oil and water. This mixture significantly cools the fire reducing the rate of liquid vaporisation. While the water droplets are passing through the flame zone, some of the water is formed into steam that dilutes the air feeding the fire and creates a smothering effect to extinguish the fire. Foam Fire Fighting System Depending on the type of fire risk and working environment involved, Tyco can provide a wide range of foam systems designed to the latest British Standard and NFPA approvals including: Low expansion system High expansion system Foam enhanced sprinkler system Hot foam system Our commitment to the development of best practice foam system design ensures the most rapid, fire knockdown using the minimum amount of water. This in turn ensures that the amount of hazardous fire effluent is significantly reduced and that the subsequent cost of legislative firewater run off containment is also significantly reduced. Each type of foam concentrate has various features and benefits, applications and limitations. The right choice means bringing together considerations of the hazard, the fuels involved, proportioning and discharge devices used, codes and standards, maintainability and associated costs. Tyco offer a full range of high quality fire fighting foam of both synthetic and protein base. Our Platinum Fire Fighting Foam is tested & approved in accordance with EN1568 Part 3 and is fully compatible with all dry chemical powders and can be used in powder/foam twin agent systems in any proportions. Tyco also offer a foam testing service to ensure that your foam is fully compliant with legislation and meets your needs. Portable Equipment In the field of fire, safety and lifesaving equipment, there can be no substitute for quality and performance. Tyco hold accredited agencies with the majority of principle manufacturers in the fire and safety field. We offer products to the highest technical specification, recognisable in the industry as leading in their field. Our product inventory contains over 1,000 products including: Breathing apparatus Extinguishers Deluge sprinklers Fire clothing Fire detectors Fire hydrants/couplings Fire pumps Foam and water throwing equipment Gas detection GRP containers Hose reels & hose reel cabinets

Area Protection Tank Storage Protection Developed as the first line of defence against fire in floating roof oil storage tanks, Nimbus operates automatically on fire detection and discharges FFFP foam to the affected segment of the rimseal. Ideal for new installations and environmentally friendly replacement for existing halon systems. The detection and discharge system uses pressurised nitrogen routed through firetrace detection tubing and triggered via a pilot operated valve connected to the main flow port. The pilot line pressure is maintained at 16 bar from the propellant cylinder. A pressure drop causes the nitrogen valve to trip and pressurise the water storage tank effecting discharge at a set rate through the discharge pipework. The in-line foam inductor induces film forming foam at a 6% ratio. Detection tube ruptures when exposed to fire. Water/FFFP discharges for 30 second duration. The resulting foam solution flows through the distribution pipework to the nozzles where it is discharged as an expanded foam solution onto the affected area. Galley Fire Fighting System A galley fire can be highly dangerous. It can quickly spread and turn a galley into a blazing inferno. The Ansul R102 system uses a specially formulated aqueous solution of organic salts designed for fast knockdown and suppression of grease related fires. Agent storage life expectancy is twelve years. Helideck Fire Fighting System Tyco can provide a wide range of fire suppression agents and equipment to prevent, contain and extinguish a fire. Systems and equipment suitable for the protection of the helideck area include: Dry chemical and twin agent skids High, medium and low expansion foams Foam generators Foam monitors c/w localised foam tanks and self-inducting nozzles Hand portable and wheeled extinguishers Self-contained working pressure vessel system Diff pop-up nozzle system Offshore Servicing and Integrated Maintenance Integrated Maintenance Service provides life cycle maintenance for the majority of fixed and portable fire fighting equipment. This ensures that this life saving equipment is in the best possible operating condition at all times meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements.
