REGULATIONS ETAPE DU TOUR 2015 Article 1 THE EVENT The Etape du Tour is a cycling event which will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2015 on the itinerary of the 19 th stage of the Tour de France between Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and La Toussuire-Les Sybelles, on which the event will mostly follow its trace. This challenge will be timed and organized on roads which are closed to traffic. The Etape du Tour is organized by Amaury Sport Organisation with the support of TDF Sport under the auspices of the French Federation for Cycling (F.F.C.). Article 2 - CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION The challenges are open to all, with or without cycling licenses, with the reserve of being at least 18 years old in 2015 on the date of the challenge. For those born in 1997 and still under 18 years old at the date of the challenge, written parental authorization is mandatory. Competitors who have a French Cycling Federation license permitting competition cycling (FFC, UFOLEP, FSGT, and FFTRI exclusively) must furnish a photocopy of their 2015 license when picking up their race numbers. Other competitors (FFCT, FFC PASS LOISIR and SERVICE, FFC Teaching and Referee License holders, and competitors without a cycling license) must furnish the original or a photocopy of a medical certificate stating no contraindication to competition cycling dated less than a year before the day of the challenge. The medical certificate or the photocopy of the 2015 license must be given (and only) when picking up numbers at the welcome village in La Toussuire-Les Sybelles. No medical certificate mailed beforehand, by post or email, will be accepted. Participation in the Etape du Tour implies accepting completely and without reserve these regulations for all competitors. Article 3- REGISTRATION Registration to the event can be done exclusively on the challenge's official website (www.letapedutour.com) or through specialized licensed travel agents in the limit of places available from November 6, 2014. Rates can be consulted on the challenge's website, as well as on the registration platform

www.asochallenges.com. For security reasons, the race organizer limits the number of competitors in the challenge. All engagement is personal, firm, and definitive and can not be the object for reimbursement for any motive (except for competitors who have signed up for the specific cancellation insurance). No transfer of registration will be authorized for any reason. Any person giving his/her number to another person will be recognized as responsible in case of accident occurring with or provoked by that person during the challenge. The organizer declines all responsibility in case of accident caused by this type of situation and reserves the right to definitely exclude the competitor from the Etape du Tour. Numbers should be worn on the back and must be visible throughout the race. Article 4 - PICKING UP NUMBERS Race numbers should be picked up in the welcome village that will be in place in La Toussuire-Les Sybelles on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday, July 19, 2015 from 9am to 8pm (the precise address of the village will be available on the challenge's website www.letapedutour.com). No race numbers will be distributed on Sunday, race day. The numbers and the timekeeping chips will be given on presentation of one's registration confirmation, proof of identity, and cycling license or medical certificate. No numbers will be sent by post. Each participant must come to pick up his/her number in person. The appointment of numbers is firm and definitive. Article 5 - REQUIRED AND PROHIBITED MATERIAL For security reasons and for the smooth functioning of the race, each participant must be at the start of the Etape du Tour with the mandatory equipment detailed below: - Hard helmet which must be worn for the duration of the challenge - Hydration system (bottle or hydration sac) For your security, as well as the security of other participants, it is formally prohibited to participate in the Etape du Tour with: - a bicycle equipped with any kind of extension (bar ends or triathlon handlebars) - an electric bicycle or electrically assisted pedal bicycle

- a recumbent or prone bicycle - a bicycle that is not officially recognized by the F.F.C. Article 6 - RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT To respect the environment and the natural settings encountered, it is strictly forbidden to leave rubbish (paper, plastic packaging, etc.) on the course. Rubbish bins will be placed at your disposal at each refreshment stand and in collection zones. They will be indicated at different points along the course. It is imperative for competitors to use them. Participants must keep their rubbish and packaging until coming to the place indicated by the organizer for disposal. An Eco Cyclo patrol will be present in the heart of the pack to assure the respect of these rules. The race direction reserves the right to attribute time penalties to competitors who voluntarily leave their rubbish outside of the designated areas. Article 7 TIMEKEEPING AND RANKING Timekeeping will be done using an electronic detection system. All participants will be given a timekeeping chip positioned on the back of the handlebar badge. This chip, detected by different antennas placed along the course, will allow regular course control and monitoring and also the establishment of the course's results and ranking. To allow normal functioning of this chip, it must not be bent or damaged. Also, the handlebar badge must be attached to the front of the bicycle, as explained in the documents given to the participants (instructions on the envelope containing the race number and the badge). The electronic detection systems are chosen according to strict reliability requirements. Despite tests done by the manufacturers, there is a very small percentage of non-detection. Absence of data because of non-detection of chips will not allow the organizer to include the competitor's time in the ranking. The organizer will not be held responsible for this. At the end of the challenge, a number of different rankings will be established:

- Best sprinter Challenge: a ranking will be established over a short timed portion in the plains. This challenge will not have a prize. - Best climber Challenge: a ranking will be established for the accumulated time during the Glandon and La Toussuire climbs. This challenge will not have a prize. - Feminine and Masculine scratch ranking: the three first women and the three first men to cross the finish line will be compensated during a prize ceremony taking place at La Toussuire- Les Sybelles. The ensemble of the results will be published on the challenge's website, as well as your ASO Challenges space. Article 8 - COURSE SECURITY Personal following automobiles are strictly forbidden on the course. The race organizers will put in place a number of precautions for the security on the course such as; arrows, motorcycles warning about danger zones, and signs indicating passages which need special attention. The danger spots on the course will also be referenced and communicated on the challenge's website. Participants must respect the security directions given by race workers (motorcyclists and volunteers) throughout the course. Race security precautions will end at the finish line, situated at La Toussuire-Les Sybelles. Participants wishing to return toward Saint-Jean de Maurienne must respect the marked itinerary. This will be done outside of the race and will therefore be done on roads open to traffic. Participants will make this return independently and under their own responsibility and must respect the highway code. Article 9 WITHDRAWALS AND TIME LIMITS Except in the case of injury, if a competitor wishes to withdraw, he/she must (when possible) withdraw at the withdrawal or repatriation areas put in place by the organizer. He/she must come forward to the person responsible for the post who will definitively cancel the competitor's number. Means of repatriation for the competitors and their bicycles will be put in place at each of these zones. To assure the security of participants and to plan the reopening of roads to traffic, it is indispensable for participants to remain within the finish times of the race. Two options will be put in place to this effect: Stationary Operation: repatriation points Elimination time frames at different points along the course will be determined, communicated to participants (through the challenge's website, social networks, and at the village stand where one

retrieves race numbers in La Toussuire-Les Sybelles), and put in place. These time limits will correspond to times from which it will no longer be possible to leave the place indicated. Competitors will be eliminated from the challenge and will not be part of the Etape du Tour's ranking because of not leaving the elimination points at the defined time. Means of repatriation for the cyclists and their bicycles will be in place at each of these areas. Mobile Operation: end of race The end of race operation, made up of at least a motorcycle, a car, and a bus, will only be responsible for participants who have been victim to a fall, a mechanical breakdown, or physical weakness, and who are unable to get to the elimination and repatriation areas on their own. Participants assisted by this mobile operation will be eliminated from the race. The medical service, made up of doctors and first-aid workers, can decide to eliminate a competitor for medical reasons. All participants eliminated from the race who nonetheless decide to continue on the course do so independently and under their own responsibility, and must respect the highway code. The placement and time limits for the elimination points and repatriation areas will be communicated to participants before the challenge (newsletters, website, and social networks) and when picking up race numbers. Article 10 - ANTI-DOPING MEASURES The Etape du Tour is a challenge organized under the auspices of the F.F.C. Hence, antidoping controls may be put in place. Participants of the Etape du Tour commit to rigorously respecting the ban on doping, as well as the arrangements concerning anti-doping controls, and the results of laws and regulations in place, notably articles articles L.230-1 and those following the Sport Code. Article 11 INSURANCE Cycling and cycling in competition in particular are physical activities which carry risks. Each Etape du Tour participant registers with the knowledge that the challenge takes place on mountain terrain made up of intense climbs and rapid descents. To assure the inherent risks of participation in the Etape du Tour, a number of insurance options are proposed. Civil liability: In accordance with current legislation, the organizer has taken out insurance

covering the financial consequences of its civil liability, that of its representatives and participants of the Etape du Tour. As far as the civil liability of participants is concerned, the intervention of this insurance is limited to accidents that they may cause to a third party during the sports event. Furthermore, this insurance will intervene in complement to other insurance that they may have or if they do not have insurance otherwise. A certificate for this policy can be presented to any participant upon simple request. Individual accident: All Etape du Tour participants, licensed to a sports federation or not, can take out an insurance policy now, by correspondence, or at the latest when picking up numbers, guaranteeing payment of a capital sum in case of bodily harm (death or permanent disability) caused by an accident occurring on the course, whether or not the participant may be responsible, or whether there is a third party identified and/or responsible. Compensation, in function of damages, is made if the insured participant is victim of an accident during participation in the challenge. This insurance is optional, but highly recommended. It can be chosen as a complement to or instead of this type of insurance held through a sport license. The notice of this information and the subscription forms are available on the event's website (www.letapedutour.com). Property damage: The organizer declines any responsibility in case of theft, breakage, or loss of personal belongings of participants during the race. It is therefore the role and responsibility of each participant, if he/she deems necessary, to take out insurance covering these risks. Article 12 IMAGE RIGHTS By taking part in the Etape du Tour, each participant expressly authorizes the organizer and its permitted assigns to use or have used, to reproduce or have reproduced, without any form of compensation his/her name, image, voice, and sports performance within the framework of the Etape du Tour, and this on any medium, form, or support by all known or unknown means to this date or future means, for any kind of communication with the public in the entire world, for any kind of usage, including publicity and commercial use, and for the whole duration of protection currently provided by copyright legislation derived through legislative and statutory measures, judicial and/or arbitration decisions of all countries, as well as through current or future international conventions, including possible extensions, which may be added to this duration. Each participant purposefully and irrevocably authorizes the organizer and its permitted assigns in responding to imperatives for promotional and/or commercial publicity campaigns to: 1) Make any modification, addition, or suppression that may be judged useful for the

exploitation of his/her image in the conditions defined below; 2) Associate and/or combine his/her image with any signatures, taglines, slogans, legends, brands, distinctive signs, legal mentions, visuals and, in a general manner, any element of any nature of the organizer's choice which may be destined to illustrate communication supports in which they may be integrated. The participant guarantees to be free of any exclusive contract related to the usage of his/her image and/or his/her name and/or his/her voice. The organizer and its permitted assigns expressly forbid usage of names, voices, and images of participants on a support with a pornographic, racist, or xenophobic character, and even more generally forbid any exploitation which may affect the dignity of its participants. Article 13 CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) A.S.O. guarantees the confidentiality of your personal data as stipulated under the Data Processing, Data Files, and Individual Liberties law of January 6, 1978.
