Eagle Place Introduction 05 52 St James s The Crown Estate s role in St James s is to preserve its architectural heritage, improve its public areas and respond to the needs of modern occupiers and retailers, all in line with their core values of commercialism, integrity and stewardship. A key part of this role is to attract the high quality and sought-after retailers that will build upon St James s reputation as an exciting and vibrant destination. This includes enhancing the established restaurant offer by attracting acclaimed restaurants appropriate for a historically distinctive St James s. The Crown Estate and St James s The Crown Estate has launched a 500 million investment programme in St James s to enhance and protect its future as a distinct nîche in the West End office market and a world-renowned destination for shops and restaurants. Following on from its impeccable track record, there will be comprehensive improvements to public realm, and significant investments made to ensure and build upon the area s distinct character. The vision is to refine St James s, maintaining its unique history and heritage, whilst preparing the area for a very bright future. Left Jermyn Street

The Crown Estate The Crown Estate has a reputation for successfully implementing improvements to the streets and other public space around their properties. This can be seen at Oxford Circus, Heddon Street, Swallow Street and Glasshouse Street. The Piccadilly two-way scheme (including Piccadilly Circus) was part-funded by The Crown Estate who are considering extending this approach to Haymarket, Waterloo Place, Regent Street and Jermyn Street.

St James s redefining refined St James s is the ultimate blend of elegant heritage and luxury retail. With a reputation as a world-class shopping and dining destination, it is synonymous with traditional fine craftsmanship and genteel sophistication. Building on this reputation, new restaurateurs and retailers that embody the area s core values of personal, distinctive, stimulating and eclectic, are actively encouraged to redefine refined.

Expression As a key addition to this internationally recognisable address, the development has commissioned bespoke pieces of public art by Richard Deacon and Stephen Cox. Richard Deacon s work on the Piccadilly façade is dramatic and playful, the piece is constructed as a colourful variation on the building s unique faience façade, communicating a rare expression of individuality. The eye catching face that appears on the corner of Jermyn Street and Eagle Place is the work of Stephen Cox, an internationally exhibited sculptor with work in the permanent collections of both the Tate and the Uffizi.
