Descendants of William J. Ham Generation No. 1 1. WILLIAM J. 1 HAM was born Abt. 1822 in Franklin County, North Carolina, and died Bef. 1890 in Perry County, Alabama. He married ELIZA MORTON. She was born Abt. 1831, and died 1895 in Perry County, Alabama. Notes for WILLIAM J. HAM: SOURCE: Mary Frances Bennett, Selma, Alabama: "William J. Ham was a potter and his grave marker was made from a large pottery jug. I was unable to read the dates. Ham Pottery Shop was later bought by the Miller family. William J. and Eliza were members of Ephesus Baptist Church in Sprott, Perry County, Alabama. Her death is recorded in the church minutes of Ephesus Church. They are buried in the old Ham Family Cemetery in a remote area of Perry County, Alabama. Also buried there was their son, John Thomas Ham and their daughter, Martha "Mattie" Ham Hopper, also other children in unmarked graves. The cemetery lies in the area of Mt. Olive and Mt.
