Rosetta Patterson, 93, of Ashland, Neb., and formerly of Nevada, died Wednesday, May 1, at IHS Nursing Home in Ashland. Funeral services are pending with Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. L. Rosetta Patterson May 13, 2002 Feb. 19, 1909, to April 30, 2002 L. Rosetta Maxwell Patterson, 93, of Ashland, Neb., formerly of Nevada, died of heart failure on Tuesday, April 30, at Ashland Care Center in Ashland, Neb. She was born Feb. 19, 1909, in Paonia, Colo., to Oscar and Daisy (Southern) Neal. She attended school in Mingo and graduated from Dubuque High School. She graduated from John McDonald Nursing School in Monticello, Iowa. She married Francis A. (Frank) Maxwell on Jan. 27, 1928, in Princeton, Mo. They lived and farmed in the Colfax and Collins areas. Francis preceded her in death on May 18, She married John "Dick" Patterson, Jr., on Aug. 11, 1946, in Princeton, Mo. They lived in the Collins/Clyde and St. Mary's/St. Charles areas. They retired to Nevada in She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Millard, Neb., and enjoyed crocheting, sewing and needlework. She gave many years of volunteer service to the Story County Hospital and the Senior Citizens Center in Nevada. She was honored at the Iowa Governor's mansion for this service. She had been a resident of Ashland, Neb., for the past six years. Survivors include six daughters, Frances Smith of Tama, Margaret Stratton of Collins, Ann Maxwell of Omaha, Neb., Daisy Swanson of Nevada, Carol Hedges of Annapolis, Md., and Patricia Lundquist of Omaha, Neb.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Mary McDermott of San Francisco, Calif.

3 She is preceded in death by her parents; her frist husband, Frank; her second husband, Dick, on Nov. 17, 1969; five brothers; one sister; a son, Ronald Maxwell; and a granddaughter, Debbie Swanson. A prayer service was held Monday, May 6, at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Pastor Dave Matsumura officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. Memorials may be made to the L.
