PROTECT PLATFORM / APPLICATION SUPPORT
HYPER-V CLUSTER SHARED VOLUMES (CSV) IASO / GFI - The first to bring Hyper-V CSV support to Online / Hybrid Cloud Backup. Failover Clustering and CSV enables Highly available or continuously available file share storage for applications such as Microsoft SQL Server and Hyper-V virtual machines. CSV is becoming a standard deployment for applications needing High Availability

VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY OVERVIEW Virtual Disaster Recover (VDR) was a new tab/ function introduced in the 13.5 release of the Backup Manager which partners can make available to their end-customers if they choose. VDR introduced the concepts of Physical to Virtual (P2V) Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) to the IASO Backup product by automating the recovery of physical Windows machines as a VMware compatible virtual machine. And now in 13.6 a Hyper-V compatible virtual machine VDR allows partners to deliver increased availability and improved RTO for their end-customers.
VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY OVERVIEW VDR provides increased value to partners by now allowing them to provide a Disaster Recovery as a Service offerings to their customers using their existing IASO or GFI MAX Backup implementation. VDR provides a method for partners and their end-customers to perform regular, non-disruptive DR testing without a significant hardware, or time investment.
VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY USE-CASES 1. MSP provides remote assistance to perform a Virtual Recover at the End-customers location using the customers own VMware or Hyper-V environment. 2. MSP performs a Virtual Recovery within their own DataCenter to an ESXi or Hyper-V server they own. The recovered server is then made available to the end-customer for a short period of time. 3. MSP performs a Virtual Recovery to an offline.vmdk or.vhd file and ships it on physical media to the customer or an IAAS partner.
VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY USE-CASES 4. MSP can stage a Virtual Recovery to an ESXi or Hyper-V server and then performs daily incremental restores to keep a near-line copy for rapid DR purposes 5. MSP leverages VDR to perform recurring DR testing services for the endcustomer 6. MSP leverages VDR as a tool to do a one time conversion of the endcustomers physical machines into VMs hosted by the MSP
VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY HOW DOES IT WORK RESTORE System drive (C:\) ESXi: 192.168.1.1 BACKUP Windows 2008/2012 System state System drive (C:\) FILES CLOUD STORAGE VMDK or ESXi VMWare host
VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY KEY-BENEFITS Eliminates the need to manually rebuild the system with a base OS, reducing downtime. Provides additional revenue generating DR service options to our partners. Helps our partners standardize on a single BDR solution, reducing cost and complexity
VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY REQUIREMENTS VDR is capable of recovering the following Windows Operating Systems: Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 Windows Server 2008 / Windows 2008 R2 Windows Server 2012 / Windows 2012 R2 VDR is capable of restoring to the following targets: VMware ESXi 4.1 (Paid Version, Not FREE ESXi) VMware vsphere 5.0 / 5.5 (Paid Version, Not FREE ESXi) An offline *.VMDK file which can be mounted by VMware Workstation / VMware Player Microsoft Hyper-V compatible *.VHD file
VIRTUAL DISASTER RECOVERY REQUIREMENTS VDR requires that a successfully backup of System State and a bootable File System be completed once the new update has been installed. VDR requires that a successfully backup of System State be completed VDR requires that a successfully System Volume Backup (bootable file system) be completed VDR supports MBR Partitions and does not support GPT Partitions VDR is not meant to address Physical Server or Dissimilar Hardware Recovery (SEE BMR BETA)

CONNECTWISE BILLING INTEGRATION ConnectWise integration was introduced in 13.5 as a new tab visible in the IASO Cloud Management Console to our partners Integration requires IASO partners with a ConnectWise PSA account to create linkage between end-customers in the CMC and end-customers in ConnectWise Integration allow partners to define managed services that monitor storage utilization and create billing reports from within the ConnectWise management console.
CONNECTWISE BILLING INTEGRATION Partners can define a managed service based on multiple backup product offerings with either a fixed price per GB or a variable price based on user defined capacity ranges. ConnectWise integration delivers comparable functionality to that found in the existing Autotask integration tab of the CMC The latest 13.6 update, improved the integration and provides partners with the option to bill on USED STORAGE or SELECTED DATA
