Consistently Better Natural Restoration Everyone should have a passion in life, and for me it s been to protect and restore our lands to their original native beauty. That s why in 1988 I founded what I believe is the premier company focused on exactly that, ecological restoration. While many companies claim to provide ecological restoration, Pizzo & Associates, Ltd. offers all aspects of the creation and restoration of natural areas. We provide knowledgeable consultation and planning. We prepare the land and install native plants and seeds without shortcuts, using the highest quality flora from local, reliable sources (often from our own nursery). And we follow through with stewardship to ensure long-term viability. Our results speak for themselves. I invite you to look through this showcase of the beauty and wonder of our shared natural habitat. To view our complete portfolio of work, including a vast collection of before-and-after photographs, please visit our website at www.pizzo.info. I welcome your comments and further inquiries if Pizzo & Associates, Ltd. can serve your needs. J a c k P i z z o Success can be achieved only through comprehensive planning and design. Experienced Planning and Design Our services include: Natural Areas Assessment Threatened and Endangered Species Inventory Restoration Planning and Review Innovative Stormwater Management Planning Prescribed Fire Permitting Delineation, Mitigation, Monitoring and Reporting Bioengineered Solutions for Erosion Control Whether the project is residential, commercial, industrial, municipal, publicly or privately owned, success can be achieved through the appropriate use of multi-discipline planning and design. Ecological design initially involves a site visit to determine the conditions that exist on the property. Next, conceptual work to devise a design program and a systematic approach to restoration is developed. Finally, it involves the conversion of collected data, design programs and recommended solutions into a comprehensive set of documents that can be utilized for bidding, implementation, stewardship and monitoring. If a natural area is not stewarded it will become overgrown with invasive and weedy species and will be aesthetically displeasing. The stewardship process involves monitoring the vegetation and reacting to changes as they occur through the growing season. A stewardship plan must be flexible. Natural areas are dynamic and Pizzo strives to account for the uniqueness of each individual site through proprietary adaptive management strategies that markedly increase the chances of success.
