EMERGENCY SERVICES The goal of the new joint emergency clinic is to provide acutely ill patients with equal, well-timed access to high quality, effective care For an individual patient, our goals are safe practices, smooth treatment processes, and as short waiting times as possible Patients are admitted to the hospital with a referral from emergency services, and occasionally even without referrals in serious emergencies During night-time from 10:00pm to 8:00am, Porvoo Hospital emergency clinic is the only on-duty clinic in the whole Eastern Uusimaa area

NURSING PRACTICE IN HUS PORVOO HOSPITAL Nursing practice in HUS is guided by patient-centered, evidence-based practice, patient safety, and multiprofessional and collegial atmosphere We follow the shared healthcare ethical guidelines (Etene 2001), the ethical guidelines of different professional groups, and the rules set together in the units Members of the nursing staff work independently (nurse s appointments), and in multi-professional work groups (consultation meetings), and treat patients according to the given instructions in all hospital departments. 8/24/2016 23
