intelligent systems SHERPA C 5000 NÚCLEO DF INTEROPERABLE SOLUTION FOR AUTOMATION OF SUBSTATIONS BASED ON STANDARD IEC-61850

01. SHERPA C 5000 Standard IEC-61850 provides a new perspective for the automation of Electricity SubtationsSubstations, not only from an operational point of view, but also regarding maintenance and engineering tasks in the substation. The main objective of this standard is to enable interoperability between different equipment manufacturers. In order to achieve this purpose, the standard supports commercial communication technologies based on TCP/IP and the specification of an information exchange system between substation devices. Both components provide the user other additional benefits: reduction of cabling in the substation, reduction in start-up time and improve reliability of the final system. From the point of view of distributed systems based on Client-Server models, Standard IEC-61850 defines a common data model (IEC-61850-7), the specification of communications between the IEDs of the Substation (IEC-61850-8) and a single communication language for exchange of information between the engineering tools (IEC-61850-6). With the SHERPA C 5000 system, Núcleo DF provides a complete solution for remote control of Substations, combining its vast experience in remote control of Electricity Substations with the most recent trends in Substation automation: International Standard IEC-61850. The SHERPA C 5000 is made up of the following elements: - SHERPA S 5000. This is the Substation SCADA providing the operating and supervision functionality, while also including security elements, robustness and long-lasting reliability in Control Centres based on SCADA Systems developed by Núcleo DF - SHERPA C 5000G. Equipment that allows access to substation data, together with remote control of same from Electricity Distribution Offices using traditional remote control protocols - SHERPA R 5000. Control equipment with graphic interface based on the design of SERIES 5/5000 equipment by Núcleo DF and which carries out bay control functions. Likewise, it integrates conventional third party equipment that is no compatible with the Standard in the system - Integrated System for Management and Maintenance, made up of a set of tools for engineering and maintenance in the Substation

02. SHERPA S 5000 The SHERPA S 5000 is a PC based SCADA application allowing the supervision and operating of Substation devices. Likewise, provides a common platform for the integration of tools and utilities from other system device manufacturers. Apart from its compatibility with Standard IEC-61850, the SHERPA S 5000 provides all the operating functionalities of traditional SHERPA SCADAs for Substation environments and additionally includes security elements, robustness and long-lasting reliability in Control Centres based on SCADA Systems developed by Núcleo DF. Some of the most outstanding functions of the SHERPA S 5000 are the following: - High-capacity display and navigation, with different types of information presentation: synoptic, alarm reports, signal reports, trend curves (in real time or historic), and others - User Management, SHERPA S 5000 provides a complete control of user access to the system, allowing the definition of the type of actions than can be carried out, apart from assigning permits for operating system elements - Data processing. Data processing in real time and system alarms can be defined using SHERPA S 5000, by means of a powerful calculation subsystem which, by means of a language of symbols allows the preparation of information from the data acquired in the field - Task scheduling which is periodically executed with temporary criteria or in the case of an event being defected - Report generation, with historical information stored in an ORACLE database.

03. SHERPA C 5000G SHERPA C 5000G carries out the gateway functions for information from the Substation towards the remote Control Centres and command routing from these to the Substation IEDs. This equipment, designed according to the Object Oriented Programming paradigm, includes the MMS Client functionality towards Substation IEDs which are compatible with Standard IEC-61850. SHERPA C 5000G supports IEC-60870-5-101, IEC-60870-5-104, DNP3.0, Modbus, and other proprietary standard remote control protocols, when communicating with remote Control Centres.

04. SHERPA R 5000 This equipment responsible of the Bay Controller functions and is based on the hardware and software platform of the Núcleo DF P SERIES-5/5000 remote control equipment with proven robustness and reliability in different industrial sectors, as well as its compliance with the international standards regarding electrical robustness and electromagnetic compatibility. The SHERPA R 5000 therefore implements the MMS Server functions and incorporates information exchange with other 61850 Servers through the GOOSE service defined in the standard. SHERPA R 5000 supports the following type of Logical Nodes of the standard (IEC-61850-7): - GGIO Nodes (analogical and digital input/output) - MMXU Nodes (three-phase analogical measurements at three and four wires) - XCBR (Switches) and - XSWI (disconnector) Nodes The SHERPA R 5000 integrates, in the Substation automation system, information from conventional third party equipment not compatible with the standard, encapsulating this information in I/O Logical Nodes (GGIO Nodes) of the logical device itself. The SHERPA R 5000 includes a touch screen display of 11, allowing information on the position as well as the local command of this to be queried.

05. INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE The Integrated System for Management and Maintenance is the software platform for the configuration of Núcleo DF equipment in the Substation, and it is designed in compliance with SCL language of Standard IEC-61850-6. It is possible to import the configuration of third party equipment compatible with the standard and thus integrated it in the system. Other module of the configuration suite is the Service Terminal Software, this application is designed for the administration and maintenance functions of the Nucleo DF SHERPA R 5000 Bay Control Units. The graphic editor, it allows the user to customize, in a dynamic way, the graphic screen interface on which the remote control information is displayed.
