V. Curriculum Development A. Bowling Green State University- Courses HMSLS PEG 2000 Turbokick 2012-2012 - A new class that was added fall 2012. Prepared lectures and demonstrated movements specific to Turbokick activities. The book used was an overall wellness book titled Fit and Well. Grading was based on class participation, discussion boards, and mid-term and final movements. Turbokick is trademark and merges dance and aerobic kickboxing with music at approximately 150 BPM. PEG 2000 PiYo 2012- A new class that was added fall 2012. Prepared lectures and demonstrated movements specific to PiYo activities. The book used was an overall wellness book titled Fit and Well. Evaluations are based on quizzes, discussion boards, and mid-term and final demonstrations. PiYo is trademark and is a mixture of Yoga and Pilates. Students were also taught the differences between Yoga and Pilates and the varying terms and theory. PEG 2000 Aerobic Conditioning 2013- A new class that was added fall 2013. Prepared lectures and demonstrated various forms of exercise including but not limited to: Turbokick, Pilates, Yoga, and Step Aerobics. I downloaded several personally prepared powerpoint slides as well as various articles retrieved online. Evaluations are based on quizzes, discussion boards, and mid-term and final demonstrations. PEG 2000 E-Fitness 2014- A new class that will be added spring 2014. Completion is 100% online. The book that will be used is Fit and Well which is an overall wellness book. The topics covered, but not limited to are: nutrition, healthy lifestyle, mental wellness, drug and alcohol use, and cardiovascular health. The course work includes, quizzes, discussion boards, papers, and lab assignments. B. Owens Community College- Courses HPE 134 Fit For Life Developed this class for in class, as well as online instruction. Prepared lectures and instruct students in healthy lifestyles, encouraging students to adopt healthy living in their personal life. This is done through a discussion of nutrition, exercise and their impact on the cardiovascular system. Research the current physical fitness for each individual student through various types of physical testing including but not limited to body fat analysis and VO2 MAX evaluations. Course work includes quizzes, discussion boards and a final project. Also responsible for choosing of the textbook.
