UF BEEF UNITS MLK WEEKEND CATTLE SALE- January 17, 2015 On Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 A.M. the UF Beef Units will be holding a sale consisting of 40 head of bred cows, 1 open Brahman cow, 18 head of heifers, and 7 breeding age bulls. Cattle are Angus, Brahman, and Angus X Brahman cross. Cattle can be seen in the pasture at the UF Santa Fe Beef Unit (14202 NW 294 th Ave. Alachua FL 32615) from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. from Jan. 10 th until the day of the sale. There are some registered Brahman cows and bulls on this sale. The sale will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 17 th. The cattle will not come through a ring at the time of sale, so arrangements should be made to view the cattle in the field prior to the sale date or before sale time on the date of the sale. Cattle have been grouped according to breed, age, and expected calving date. The bulls will be sold individually, females will be sold in groups of one to five head per lot. Bids can be made in person or, if unable to attend, submitted prior to the sale. A more complete list of the sale cattle and a more detailed description of the sale terms will be available at the sale or by calling Danny Driver 352-538-1401 or ddriver@ufl.edu. Please call ahead to arrange a time if you would like to see the cattle before sale day. A brief description of the sale lots is listed below. From I-75, take exit #404 East on CR-236, go approximately 3 miles, turn North on CR-241, go approximately 3 miles and look for Orange/Blue IFAS sign on the right hand side of the road.

UF Beef Units SALE TERMS MLK Weekend Sale Jan. 17, 2015@ 11:00 A.M. The University of Florida, Dept. of Animal Sciences will offer for sale 40 pregnant cows, 1 open Brahman cow, 18 yearling heifers and 7 bulls, on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015. Cattle will need to be viewed prior to the sale as they will not come through a sale ring. Sale cattle will be available for inspection at the Santa Fe Beef Unit, north of Alachua, FL. (14202 NW 294th Avenue Alachua, FL 32615) from Saturday, Jan. 10 th through Friday, Jan. 16 th from 8-5 and prior to the sale on the 17 th from 7-11. Please call ahead to make arrangements for viewing the sale cattle. A summary of the Jan. weights, pregnancy status, and breeds of the sale animals is attached. All information is believed to be accurate, but is not guaranteed. These cattle consist of registered and non-registered Angus, Brangus, Brahman, and crossbred cattle. They are sold as grade (not purebred) cattle, unless otherwise specified. No attempt will be made by the seller ( UF ) to assist in registering cattle sold as non-registered. Final payment for the cattle is due on sale day, unless other arrangements have been made with UF prior to the sale. The payment may need to be divided into two separate checks based on percentages specified by the University. Cattle can be loaded immediately after the sale or between 7 A.M. and 4 P.M. on the 19 th, 20 th or 21 st. UF personnel will be available to assist with loading. Cattle should be picked up no later than Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015. BID BASIS: Bid should be in terms of dollars PER HEAD. A minimum price for each lot based on current market prices will be set and bidding will not go below that price. At the conclusion of the sale, lots that did not bring the minimum bid may be purchased for the floor price on a first come first served basis. Groups will not be split. Buyer assumes all cost of shipping, and risk for cattle upon loading. The University of Florida reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The sale will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Saturday, Jan. 17 th. The sale will be held at the University of Florida Santa Fe Beef Research Unit, and cattle may be inspected in the field prior to the sale.
