S A I N T L O U I S U N I V E R S I T Y C E N T E R F O R M E D I E V A L & R E N A I S S A N C E STUDIES N E H R E S E A R C H F E L L O W S H I P S The Center for Medieval & Renaissance Studies invites applications for six fellowships of five weeks duration each to conduct research in the Knights of Columbus Vatican Film Library or the rare book and manuscript collections of Pius XII Memorial Library at Saint Louis University. Applicants must possess an earned doctorate or be a Ph.D. candidate at the dissertation stage. Topics proposed for research may include history, philosophy, theology, science, literature, etc., as well as paleography, codicology, illumination, text editing, and other studies. The fellowship provides a stipend of $1750 per five-week period, a travel subsidy of up to $600 for travel within the continental United States or up to $1000 for international travel, and accommodations. Fellows are required to deliver one public lecture on the topic of their research. Applications should include four copies each of a cover letter briefly describing the proposed project, the intended dates of research, a full description of the project not to exceed five double-spaced pages, a listing of specific manuscripts, documents, or other materials in the collections needed for the research, and a curriculum vitae. Applicants may apply for a single five-week period or for two consecutive fiveweek periods within the following schedule: Fall Semester, 2012 Spring Semester, 2013 August 27 September 28 January 14 February 15 October 1 November 2 February 18 March 22 November 5 December 7 March 25 April 26 Applications will be accepted from January 15 until all time periods are filled.
