The Gingerbread Man - Script and Song Lyrics Once upon a time there was a little old woman and a little old man. They lived in a little old house near a river. They had no children and felt rather lonely, so one day the little old woman said to her husband OLD WOMAN I m going to make our own little boy out of gingerbread. So she rolled out the dough and cut it into the shape of a little man. She pressed in two currants for eyes, made his mouth out of lemon peel and added a cherry for his nose. She put the gingerbread man on to a baking tin and into the oven to bake. OLD WOMAN Now I shall have my own little gingerbread man. Song 1. TWO LITTLE LEGS CD track 2/6 1 Two little legs, two little legs. Two little legs. 2 Two little arms, two little arms. Two little arms. 3 Currants for his eyes, currants for his eyes. Currants for his eyes. 4 A cherry for his nose, a cherry for his nose. A cherry for his nose. 5 Peel for his mouth, peel for his mouth. Peel for his mouth. CCLI Song No. 5749526

When the gingerbread man was ready, the little old woman went to get him from the oven. But as she began to open the door, she heard a tiny voice shouting G. MAN Let me out, let me out! The little old woman opened the door and out popped the gingerbread man. He ran straight past her and across the kitchen floor. The little old woman shouted OLD WOMAN Stop, stop, little gingerbread man! But the gingerbread man shouted back at the top of his tiny voice G. MAN I m the gingerbread man! OLD MAN The little old man was digging in the garden. The cheeky gingerbread man ran out of the front door and straight past the old man who called out Stop, stop, little gingerbread man! But the gingerbread man shouted back again G. MAN I m the gingerbread man! COW And they could not catch him. The little gingerbread man ran off down the lane. He ran and ran and soon he met a black and white cow. The cow was eating grass, but she thought the gingerbread man looked much tastier. Stop, stop, little gingerbread man. You look good to eat! But the gingerbread man just ran faster and faster, shouting merrily

G. MAN I m the gingerbread man! And the cow could not catch him. The little gingerbread man ran on and on and soon he met a big brown horse. The horse was eating hay, but he thought the little gingerbread man looked much tastier. HORSE Stop, stop, little gingerbread man. You look good to eat! But the gingerbread man ran faster still and shouted at the top of his tiny voice G. MAN I m the gingerbread man! And the horse could not catch him. The gingerbread man was much too fast. He ran on and on, faster and faster. Song 2. YOU CAN T CATCH ME! CD track 3/7 1 you can t catch me, I m too fast for you, you see. you can t catch me, You really should agree. The fox had a red bushy tail and he was very sly. Stop, stop, little gingerbread man. I only want to talk to you. But the little gingerbread man kept on running. G. MAN I m the gingerbread man! But then the gingerbread man came to a big, wide river and he had to stop. He knew that he couldn t get across the river, and he could see the horse and the cow and the little old man and the little old woman getting closer. The sly old fox put on a friendly smile. FOX Get on to my tail and I ll take you across the river. So the little gingerbread man jumped on to the fox s tail. The fox slid into the river and began to swim across.
