My Position Statement Anesthesia has long been an important part of the medical field for the successful outcome of surgery. It has also been one of my highest goals of occupational achievement. This past June of 2012 I was privileged to begin the DNP/CRNA Anesthesia Program with USAGPAN (United States Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing) and have excelled in all my endeavors thus far. As future nurse anesthetists, we will be at the frontline, providing safe and effective anesthesia to millions of people every year. However, our profession does not extend just to the operating room and clinics. It is also at our state and national levels of the AANA. Active members of the AANA fight for the rights and responsibilities of nurse anesthetists and help to ensure the continued protection of our profession. The AANA is a strong organization, and I am confident that my service will add to this precedence. As your student representative I would be privileged to serve as your voice regarding both current issues and educational topics that effect our profession. I promise to fulfill the responsibility of the position to the best of my ability. I am eager and willing to serve as your Student Representative to the AANA Education Committee, and I would be honored to receive your vote.
