Created link chart one subject had the name of James Brown with a bogus address. Couldn t associate the number to a person or address. Checked various systems: KPF, Lexis Nexis, Entersect, CAD, RMS, etc Used Coplink to query subject s phone number and got a hit from a traffic accident report in Placer County. Report occurred while the pen was in place. Report had subject s name, address & phone number. Ran the suspect and sure enough, he had drug arrests. I m certain this is our guy. 7

The victim sustained 7 gun shot wounds. Victim statement shooter was a black male adult with the moniker of keylime. Victim s girlfriend had the suspect s cell phone number. The phone number was registered to a female. Coplink search was conducted using the moniker along with the parameters of: black male, Victorville, associated with the female s phone number. Possible suspect, first name of Keelon was quickly identified. Using a six pack, Keelon was ID ed as the shooter. The suspect was located and arrested early the next morning, less than 12 hours after the crime occurred. 8
