Term Tariff Definition Rules Definition Recommended change aggregation "aggregation" means a collection of particulars into a whole mass or sum; total; combined. apparent power "Apparent Power" means the product of the volts and amperes, comprising both real and reactive power, usually expressed in kilovoltamperes ( kva ) or megavoltamperes ( MVA ). CBM is currently not utilized in Alberta. customer s facilities or customer facilities "Customer's Facilities" or "Customer Facilities" means all facilities interconnecting with the AIES on the Customer s side of the POD or POS. data model "data model" means facts, figures, measurements and information pertaining to the power system. This data includes, but is not limited to, physical and electrical information associated with generators, transmission facilities and load. dispatch log "dispatch log" means the permanent written or electronic record entered by the system controller that logs all dispatches and operational activities having been undertaken during a trading day. distributor E&GI Act "Distributor" means a party providing Distribution Access Service. "E&GI Act" means the Electricity and Gas Inspection Act (Canada) and regulations made thereunder, as amended from time to time, or such replacement legislation as may be enacted. "distributor" means a party providing distribution access service as defined in the Act. energization certificate forward contract incremental loss factor ISO formal dispute resolution mechanism "energization certificate" means the formal document signed by representatives of the party requesting permission to connect transmission facilities, a load or a generator and also by representatives of the ISO. The purpose of the document is to certify that all requirements for interconnection either have been met or will be met. Any deficiencies are specifically listed. "forward contract" has the same meaning as that provided in section 19 of the Act. "incremental loss factor" means the total increase in AIES losses experienced as a result of a specific energy transfer for a specified period of time divided by the amount of such transfer over the same period of time. Specific energy transfer takes into consideration locational effects. "ISO FDRM" means established ISO formal dispute resolution mechanisms, other than those under rule 11, available to a market participant to resolve disputes with the ISO, including but not limited to those that exist in: a) the ISO tariff; b) TFO s tariffs; or c) any contract to which the ISO and the market participant are parties. ISO load forecast "ISO load forecast" means a twenty-year load forecast for the interconnected electric system established and updated by the ISO not less than once each year. marketer "marketer" means an importer, an exporter, or a person trading within Alberta registering net settlement instructions. measurement data measurement point definition record mediation oversight committee "measurement data" is data that has been collected from meters, compensated and aggregated appropriately, and has been subjected to the required VEE checks, included in load settlement rules. "measurement point definition record" is a specification that defines the physical arrangement of the metering systems as well as any algorithms used to manipulate the metering data to produce the measurement data associated with the measurement point to which the specification applies. "mediation oversight committee" means the committee formed under rule 11.1.3.2. Page 4 of 6

mediator "mediator" means an individual who is independent and impartial and is qualified by professional qualifications or experience to mediate a dispute under rule 11. meter data manager "meter data manager" (MDM) means an entity responsible for collecting metering data, correcting and validating interval metering data, storing historic data, and reporting load and consumption data and corresponding time periods to appropriate parties. metering system "metering system" means a metering system is the devices required for metering a site, and the apparatus includes meter, CT/PT and communications. non-dispensated metering equipment means Metering Equipment installed after May 31, 1998 which is not the subject of a waiver or dispensation by Industry Canada of requirements under the E&GI Act. "non-dispensated metering equipment" means metering equipment installed after May 31, 1998 which is not the subject of a waiver or dispensation by Industry Canada of requirements under the E&GI Act. notice of eligible dispute "notice of eligible dispute" has the meaning as that provided in rule 11.3. power purchase arrangement effective date "PPA Effective Date" means January 1, 2001 or such other dates as the Power Purchase Arrangement becomes effective. "PPA effective date" means January 1, 2001 or such other date as the power purchase arrangements become effective. shift factor "shift factor" means the correction that must be made to the loss factor for each individual generating unit to account for all of the MW losses in the system that are not assigned by the loss factor methodology. supply transmission service capacity "STS Capacity" means the Contract Capacity as set out in the System Access Service Agreement for Supply Transmission Service. "STS Capacity" has the same meaning as in the ISO tariff. supply transmission service contracting party "STS contracting party" means the party holding the STS contract for a given generating asset. For those assets governed by a PPA, the PPA buyer will be the STS contracting party. For other generating assets, the GFO will be the STS contracting party. Page 6 of 6
