Close all programs currently running and insert the Peachtree Complete Accounting 2008 software CD into your computer s CD drive. When the window illustrated next opens, click Install Peachtree Accounting.
Peachtree Complete 2008 Installing Peachtree Complete and Student Data Files Page 3 2. Click Next on the window illustrated next. 3. When the licensing agreement window opens, as illustrated next, take a few minutes to read this agreement and then select Agree and click Next.
Peachtree Complete 2008 Installing Peachtree Complete and Student Data Files Page 4 4. Click Yes to the prompt illustrated next to allow Peachtree to configure your firewall settings. 5. In the window illustrated next, type in the software serial number located on the CD package and click Next.

Continue clicking Next until you reach the screen containing the Install button. Click Install. 9. When the software is installed, click Finish. 10. Close the Installation window by clicking Exit or X. You are now ready to complete the following instructions on installing student data files. Installing Student Data Files After installing Peachtree, you need to copy company databases to your machine so you can open them in the software. The databases used with the workshops are located on the MyAccountingLab Website. Make sure to choose the link to Peachtree Complete 2008 data files. The databases you will download are zipped files. You will need to unzip these filed by clicking a database name and choosing to extract the files to the C:\\Program Files\Sage Software\Peachtree\Company folder on your computer or to a folder specified by your instructor.

Locate the icon illustrated to the right on your desktop and click it to open the software. 2. The first time you use Peachtree the software will open the window illustrated next. Click Open an existing company. 3. In the window that opens, you should see the databases copied to your computer. If not, use the Browse button to locate the folder containing the databases.

You must now verify Global settings for the software so complete the next topic. Peachtree Global Settings Global settings in Peachtree control software behavior. You should verify that certain settings are selected so that transaction windows match those illustrated in the workshops. You will need to complete these steps for each installation of the software. 1. Click Options on the main menu and select Global. 2. Verify that options on the Accounting tab match the window illustrated next. If not, change the settings.
