2 Installation Overview NexTalk s SimpliciTTY TTY Call Management Software allows call center agents to receive incoming TTY calls from their deaf or hard of hearing customers in the same manner they receive voice calls. The system consists of two versions of the software, the server version (which can be located on the local server or hosted on NexTalk servers), and the agent version, which is located on the computers of call center agents. These two versions of the software work in concert to receive, validate and route incoming TTY calls to the desired location. This installation guide will address an On-Premise Solution, meaning that the server version of the SimpliciTTY software is located on your organization s local server(s). Prior to beginning the installation, be sure that the NexTalk Server(s) and call center agent computers meet the following minimum system requirements: NexTalk SimpliciTTY Server Version Minimum System Requirements Operating System Windows 7, Windows 2003, Windows 2008 (must be 64 bit version) CPU Intel i3 processor or better RAM 2GB or more if Database is installed on the same server (4GB min.) Hard Drive 500 MB or more if Database is installed on the same server (40GB min.) NIC 10/100 Mbps PCI - One x1, x4, x8 or x16 PCIe slot Video SVGA (1024x768 or better) Supported Databases Oracle 9x or better, SQL 2005 or better o Free database engines supported include: Oracle 10G XE or better, SQL Express 2010 or better. Firewall Settings We recommend turning off Windows firewall protection on NexTalk Servers Allow NexTalk client connections on Port 2591 (TCP) Copyright 2014 NexTalk, Inc. Page 1

3 NexTalk SimpliciTTY Agent Version Minimum System Requirements Operating System Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit). SimpliciTTY will also run on Windows 98SE and Windows ME, but they are not preferred. CPU Pentium 4 and above RAM 512 MB or Higher Hard Disk Space 100MB NIC 10/100 Mbps Video SVGA (1024x768 or better) Firewall Settings Open Port 2591 (TCP) to your NexTalk Servers SimpliciTTY 8 Call Center Server Installation ***This guide does not cover the Database installation. Please make sure you have Oracle, Oracle XE or SQL, or SQL Express installed before continuing. NexTalk Certificate Generator Installation: 1) Download the installation file from: 2) Extract the zip file to the desktop. You will also use this folder to store all license files and certificates that NexTalk will provide during the installation process. 3) Run UtilSetup.exe from the Util Setup Folder. 4 4) Use the default destination and click Next 5) Uncheck all components except Certificate Request Generator. Click Next. 6) Click Next to continue. Copyright 2014 NexTalk, Inc. Page 3

5 7) Click Finish. 8) Run the Certificate Request Generator located in Start -> Programs -> NexTalk. Please check with NexTalk on a suitable Domain Name to use. Fill out the rest of the form and click Generate Request. 9) Browse to the NexTalk_8_x64 folder and click Make New Folder. Name the Folder Licensing. Click Ok. Then click Yes to open the output file. 6 10) Send NexTalk the serial.txt and req.pem files so we can issue you a License file and certificate for our NexTalk Server(s). Please those attachments to [email protected]. NexTalk will reply with a license file (<company>.lic) and a certificate file (cert.pem) that is specific to your organization. Copy those files to the Licensing folder. ***Note: If you are installing NexTalk Server on more than one computer, you will need to repeat this process. However, on subsequent servers, we will only need the serial.txt files from the other servers. Please be sure to delete the other files that are generated as a result of running the Serial Generator. We will use the Key.pem later from the initial computer. PIKA HMP Board Install: 1) Connect the ESD wrist strap. 2) Shut off the computer and disconnect the power cord. 3) Remove the cover from the computer. 4) Remove the back plate from an empty PCIe slot (keep the screw for later). 5) Firmly press the card into the empty slot. The card should fit easily, do not force it into the slot. 6) Use the screw removed from the back plate to anchor the board to the computer chassis. 7) Replace the cover on the computer. 8) Reconnect the power cord and switch on the computer. 9) Proceed to Connecting Digital Line Cables and to connect the board(s) to digital phone equipment. 10) Repeat the steps above if you are installing more than 1 board. PIKA HMP Driver Install: 1) Run pikahmp windows-installer.exe from the Pika HMP folder. Copyright 2014 NexTalk, Inc. Page 5

7 2) Accept the License Agreement then click Next. 3) Use the default Installation directory. Click Next. 4) Click Next. Copyright 2014 NexTalk, Inc. Page 6

8 5) Click Install. 6) Uncheck View Readme File, and then click Finish. You will be asked to reboot your computer. Click Yes. ***Note: Please repeat the steps above if more than one PIKA HMP board is installed in your environment. 7) After the system reboots, you must run GP Config to generate the configuration file for the PIKA board. You can find the application in Start -> Programs -> PIKA HMP SDK 3.0. Follow the instructions. Once the utility is completed, a configuration file will be generated. You shouldn t have to modify this file as the default settings will typically suit most organizations. Copyright 2014 NexTalk, Inc. Page 7

9 NexTalk Server Install: 1) Create a Temp folder on your C: drive and copy the cert.pem, key.pem, and your NexTalk license file to that folder. You will also need an NtsConfigDef.xml file. NexTalk will assist you with creating this file as the default file that is included has default settings that will not work on your install. 2) Run the NexTalkServer.exe file from the NexTalk_8_x64 folder. Click Next. 3) Please disable the following services: LDAP, Internet Gateway, Remote Domains Gateway, Asterisk AGI Gateway, Monitoring Services, Relay Service, Call Detail Recording, Automatic Call Distributor, and TDN Service. Click Next when you have completed disabling the services above. *** Note: These services are extra cost features and are controlled through the NexTalk License File. NexTalk will guide you through the installation of these features if they apply to you. Copyright 2014 NexTalk, Inc. Page 8

10 4) Click Install. 5) Once the Installation is complete, click Finish. 6) Open a Command Prompt and change your directory to c:\program Files\NexTalk\Services. Once you are in that directory, type ConfigureServices.exe c:\temp\ntsconfigdef.xml. This will configure the NexTalk Services for that server. If everything loads correctly, you will see Launching app: c:\program Files\NexTalk\Services\NtsTaskbar.exe. Copyright 2014 NexTalk, Inc. Page 9

11 If you receive an error, contact NexTalk and our support will walk you through the issue(s). You can close the command prompt. At this point, you have successfully installed the NexTalk Server software. A NexTalk representative will assist you with the configuration of your NexTalk Servers which include: - User creation - Call Flow Script creation - Telephony/Routing - Test basic functionality ***If you have additional NexTalk Servers in your environment, please repeat the steps above on all servers.
