Insert Pictures into slide To help convey the presenter s ideas to audiences, using photographs, illustrations or diagrams is an effective way to achieve the goal Add photo into a slide by consistent method Click on the slide to add photo If needed, change the Slide Layout by going to File tab Slides group click the Layout down arrow select the desired layout, for example Two Content Layout Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 4

Click on Insert Picture from File icon on the slide In the Insert Picture dialog box, locate the picture to insert into the slide click Insert button Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 5

Add photo into a slide by inconsistent method Click on the slide to add photo Go to Insert tab Images group click Picture In the Insert Picture dialog box, locate the picture to insert into the slide click Insert button Use the corner handle of the insert photo to resize the inserted photo Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 6

Arrange pictures with layers Under layers, photos can be controlled to decide which are on top and which are on bottom If needed, resize the order the pictures on the slide Hold SHIFT while selecting each photo to select all photos at the same time To adjust height of selected pictures at the same time, go to Picture Tools tab Format tab Size group enter the amount of height in the box press ENTER If needed, apply Picture Styles under Picture Tools Format tab Arrange the order of picture layers on the slide Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 7

Insert ClipArt into slide Click the slide to add ClipArt Go to Insert tab Images group click ClipArt and enter the keyword in the Search box to find a desired ClipArt In the ClipArt pane, do the following: Under the Search for section, enter the keyword in the box to find a desired ClipArt click Go button Under Result should be section, click the list down arrow to filter results Double-click the desired ClipArt to insert in the slide Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 9

Work with Shapes Shapes are any objects, such as an arrow, circle or a rectangular, used for annotation, or building a diagram. Beside, shapes also include text boxes, like the placeholders, as well as freestanding text Add shapes Select the slide to insert shapes Do one of the following: Go to Home tab Drawing group click on the arrow at Shape Gallery and select a desired shape to draw on the slide Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 10

Go to Insert tab Images group click Shape select a desired shape to draw on the slide Add text to shapes Nearly any shape can be used to hold text Click on shape to select it Type text into the shape Change the text direction Click on the shape holding the text. Change the color of the text in the shape Select the boundary of the shape Go to Drawing Tools tab Format tab WordArt Styles group click the Text Fill down arrow select the desired color to apply to the text Change the Font Face, Font Size, Bold, Italic of the text Select the boundary of the shape Go to Home tab Font group select desired command to apply changes in the text Modify shapes Move shapes Select a shape Do any of the following: Drag and drop it to the new location in the slide Use the arrow key on the keyboard to move it up, down, right or left Hold CTRL + arrow keys to nudge the shape in smaller increments Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 14

Resize shapes Select a shape Do any of the following: Drag and drop the handles at the boundary of the shape Hold SHIFT + drag to constrain proportions Rotate shapes Select a shape Move the mouse to the green handle located on the top of the boundary of the shape Grab and drag it left or right to rotate Format shapes Click on the shape Go to Drawing Tools tab Format tab and select format options to apply to the shapes Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 15

Quick tips Use the Zoom slider to easily format the shapes When clicking on some shapes, there are yellow diamonds beside the resize handles. Those yellow diamonds control the focal point of the shapes Use the Format Painter feature to make formatting settings of shapes consistent throughout the presentation Work with text box Text box is a rectangular shape with no background and no outline, for example the placeholder on the slides. With Text box, text can be added anywhere on the slides, for annotating graphics or charts, or providing some additional information Text box can be resized, moved or rotated as Shape The text in Text box can be formatted as text in Shape Add Text box to slide Click on the slide to add Text box Go to Home tab Drawing group click on Text box tool in the Tools Gallery Drag the cursor in the slide to draw the Text box Start to type the text into the Text box Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 16

To change the layout of the inserted SmartArt, do the following: Select the SmartArt on the slide Go to SmartArt Tools tab Design tab Layouts group, and click on the down arrow in the Layouts Gallery to select a desired layout Click on the arrow in SmartArt Style Gallery to change the current SmartArt Style Click on Change Colors to change the color of the SmartArt Convert the existing list to SmartArt Diagram Select the slide that has the bulleted list or numbering list to convert to the organizational chart Click on the boundary of the placeholder text box Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 21

Insert photo into the SmartArt If the SmartArt Layout provides boxes to add a photo in the diagram, do the following: Click on the Photo icons to locate the photo to insert in it If needed, use crop picture feature to make the photos fit in the diagram Animate text, shapes, and other objects Animating slides can make a presentation more attractive as well as professional because it is a great tool to explain a complex slide or just slowly reveal information to the audiences. However, it s necessary to avoid using too much animation on each slide of the presentation Add animation Click on the text, shape, or other object to apply animation Go to Animations tab Animations group click on arrow at Animation Gallery and select a desired animation option to apply to the selected object All green animation options are entrance animations All yellow animation options are emphasize animations All red animation options are exit animations Lasted Edited: 2012-07-09 25
