Educational Coaches, and some staff members, with ASCEND work as independent contractors, and as such, work from home. All ASCEND staff is required to meet in Kamloops, or designated meeting place, for staff training/retreat in late August prior to the beginning of the contract year and attend one home-education conference.. Remuneration for teaching services will be on a per student basis for Kindergarten Grade 9, and a per enrolled student/per course basis for high school courses. CATHOLIC IDENTITY AND EXPECTATIONS FOR TEACHERS Teachers in Catholic schools share the very mission of the Church to teach and sanctify. ASCEND staff are expected to model a personal commitment to the truths and moral guidelines given by Christ, passed on by the apostolic tradition in the Communion of Saints.
