Cayuga offers these services and more all to help you achieve a smooth, successful transfer experience. If you think another institution is in your future, be sure to meet with our transfer counselor during your first year at Cayuga. College is a wise investment in your future. And when you consider Cayuga s low tuition especially compared to four-year public and private colleges the extra incentive of financial aid makes college even more accessible. We ll explain how to apply for financial aid, and assist you in the process. Besides the federal and state aid that we can help you obtain, generous supporters have made it possible to offer nearly $300,000 each year in scholarships to Cayuga students. Our website (/financial_aid/ scholarships) provides the details. If you re entering Cayuga in the fall, the application deadline for many types of financial aid is May 15. For some scholarships, your acceptance of enrollment at Cayuga is required by March 15. /financial_aid 4 Think Big. Start Smart.

Online Study Earn your degree or certificate online. A convenient option for completing many Cayuga courses is online study. Many Cayuga degrees can be completed either through on-campus coursework, online study, or a combination of both. Through the SUNY Learning Network (SLN), you can take Cayuga courses virtually anytime and anywhere. In online courses, you get assignments, take part in discussions, and submit papers and projects to your instructor over the internet. Class sections are limited to 25 students. Student Life Get involved, have fun, and lead. Leadership is a plus in college and beyond, and student organizations offer opportunities to nurture it. You can run for office in the Student Government Organization, plan college events as a member of the Student Activities Board, and advance your career prospects through professional and academic honor societies. Students with diverse interests take part in a variety of campus clubs. Consider campaigning to represent your fellow students for a year on the College s governing body. A member of the student population is elected annually to serve on the College Board of Trustees. While taking courses at the Auburn campus, you might try out for a stage play, work out in the fitness center, play sports in the gym, or hike among meadows of the nature trail. /students/activities.php Honors Study The Honors Study option is designed for academically motivated students wishing to study the liberal arts and sciences and ultimately preparing to transfer to a four-year college. However, Honors Study can also be adapted to other curricula at Cayuga. Honors Study is intended to provide an enhanced educational experience to those who wish to expand their experiences in and out of the classroom and stimulate their intellectual curiosity. Honors designated courses meet the liberal arts requirements but offer non-traditional ways of learning and require independent thinking, strong reading and writing skills, and a willingness to try new ways of learning. Honors Study is not a degree program in itself, but rather an enhanced learning experience in that Honors students are intellectually challenged in a manner consistent with their ability and interests. Honors students graduate with an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science in their chosen program of study, but with the distinction of an Honors Study degree. /academics/programs_of_study/ honors-program.php High School Programs Finish college faster. There are many options for high school students to earn college credit and/or enhance their skills while finishing high school and get ahead for college. Taking a Cayuga course online or on-campus is a great way to explore an area of interest and to distinguish yourself to your college of choice. If you are at least 16 years of age and meet prerequisites listed in the College catalog, you may enroll in any online credit course offered by Cayuga Community College. /academics/high_school Travel Study Programs Whether students are interested in earning college credit while traveling domestically or abroad, Cayuga Community College offers a variety of travel study programs. Travel to New York City or participate in a service learning program in Florida. Each January Intersession, several intensive travel-study courses are offered in London. Eastern Philosophy, a course on Eastern thought, includes preparatory readings and a ten-day journey to India. http:///travelstudy 6 Think Big. Start Smart.

Accelerated Studies Get a degree by taking classes once a week. Cayuga s Study on Sunday program lets you finish college faster, with an accelerated course schedule. And you can attend college full-time or part-time, by coming to campus just once a week. Cayuga offers several credit courses on Sundays during the fall and spring at the Auburn and Fulton campuses. These classes meet for just 3 hours each week. And most of the courses are accelerated, so you can finish them in just 8 weeks, instead of the usual 15-week semester. Sunday classes are held mornings and afternoons, so you can take one or two courses in a session. To meet your course requirements, you will need to complete independent assignments during the week. Sunday courses can help you fulfill degree requirements for various Cayuga degrees, including the AA in Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Science. With this degree, you can transfer into many upper-level bachelor s degree programs-including accelerated programs offered on Cayuga s Auburn campus through Empire State College and Keuka College. Sunday courses feature a learning environment that s lively and interactive. Instructors encourage student participation and small-group discussion. Cayuga s library and computer labs are open on Sunday, and financial aid is available for qualified applicants. /academics/sundays.php Athletics Cayuga Spartans dominate. Cayuga s Spartans compete in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, with NJCAA Division III teams in men s and women s basketball, soccer, bowling, golf, men s lacrosse, women s volleyball and women s softball.
