Gel Per me ation Chro ma tog ra phy (GPC) Clean up Sys tems GPC AutoPrep 2000 Model SP 2000 Universal cleanup method for or gan ic com pounds Extend the life of analytical col umns Reduce sample loss Increase recoveries Multiple column options A World of Solutions

Simplify the Process Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) cleanup has proven to be the most versatile and convenient sample cleanup technique for a wide range of sample matrices. GPC cleanup eliminates sulfur and high-molecular-weight compounds, such as lipids, polymers, and proteins, from organic sample extracts prior to GC, HPLC, LC/MS, or GC/MS analysis. If not removed, these interfering compounds clog columns and injectors, foul GC detectors, and cause sig nifi cant losses in chromatographic efficiency. GPC cleanup greatly re duc es GC down time, prevents costly delays, and extends the life of expensive analytical col umns. Regulatory Methods Using GPC USEPA SW-846 Method 3640A USEPA Contract Laboratory Program, Statement of Work for Organics Analysis, Document OLM01.0 FDA Pesticide Analytical Manual, Vol. 1 USGS SOP No. HC521 A USDA and USDI GPC Protocols, Analytical Chemistry Laboratory Guidebook (Residue Chemistry) AOAC Cleanup Methods for Meat Products With your needs in mind, OI Analytical simplified the GPC process by developing advanced cleanup systems built for reliability and enhanced ease-of-use. The GPC AutoPrep 2000 and the Model SP 2000 systems provide unmatched performance with a versatile and wide selection of column options that meet the de mands of the busy analytical laboratory. GPC AutoPrep 2000 The Ideal Automated Sys tem for GPC Cleanup The GPC AutoPrep 2000 seamlessly automates the GPC cleanup process for high throughput with complete reliability in a single system. The enhanced design integrates an autosampler, al low ing up to 60 samples to be au to mat i cal ly cleaned and collected. With Win dows -based WinSEP software, the GPC AutoPrep 2000 provides flex i bil i ty and total control over the GPC cleanup process. Automatic cleanup of up to 60 crude residue extracts Modular, low main te nance design Interchangeable sample loops No carryover con tam i na tion the flow path au to mat i cal ly rinses between samples Reduced sample loss Fewer sample handling errors Higher analyte re cov er ies Automated, Precise Sample Handling Designed for reproducibility and ease-of-use, the GPC AutoPrep 2000 fea tures superior sample handling ca pa bil i ties for high volume and timely results. Samples are transferred into vials and placed in the sample tray on the autosampler mod ule. The system then au to mat i cal ly draws up samples through precise sample loops and injects them onto the GPC column for sep a ra tion. High-mo lec u lar-weight ma te ri als, such as lipids, elute from the column first and are dis card ed. The remaining sample with the analytes of interest collect in the sample flask on the collection tray for further pro cess ing. Late-eluting fractions, such as sulfur in soil samples, can be directed to waste after col lect ing the compounds of interest. The system then rinses in prep a ra tion for the next sample.

Automatic cleanup of up to 60 samples Unlimited storage of methods and sequences Extensive reporting and data management capabilities Log file and password protection Comprehensive system monitoring Sample se quenc e modification during a run Programmable dual collect and dump times Automated pump shut down and column by pass Column cal i bra tion performance monitoring for any deterioration in res o lu tion WinSEP GPC Control Software Complete Au to ma tion Made Simple WinSEP GPC control software is an easy-to-use, powerful Windows-based application that manages and controls the GPC AutoPrep 2000. WinSEP monitors and presents information about the GPC pro cess, allows the op er a tor to control the instrument, and provides editing of se quenc es and methods. It gives access to detailed run results, which can be viewed within WinSEP, easily exported to LIMS or other data man age ment ap pli ca tions, or printed via WinSEP s integrated report generation library. WinSEP also features an integrated database and data archival capabilities. Original data is protected and cannot be modified, as required for GLP com pli ance. View, defi ne, or change a method from the Method page. From the Sequence page, create or modify a se quence, specifying which samples to process and how they are treated. View details of today s calibration and com pare them to previous cal i bra tions on the same column.

GPC Clean up Columns Perfect Partners for GPC Clean up Systems Complete your GPC cleanup system by choosing from a comprehensive array of columns. All of OI Analytical s GPC col umns provide superior per for mance and con sis tent, reliable results. Envirobeads S-X3 Column Exceptional Capacity, Reliable Per for mance The Envirobeads S-X3 high-capacity column is the standard of the in dus try. Com prised of a traditional glass column, the Envirobeads S-X3 column is filled with 70 g of resin and prepared using a variety of mobile phase sol vents, such as methylene chloride, 50/50 me th yl ene chlo ride/cyclohexane, or 70/30 ethyl acetate/cyclopentane. This reliable performer handles the tough cleanup jobs, accepting up to 10 ml of sample per run and re mov ing up to 1 g of material from a sample. The reusable glass column can be re pack ed with fresh resin and equil i brat ed with compatible solvents. The Envirobeads S-X3 column is ideally suited for a wide variety of ap pli ca tions and uses. GPC cleanup using the Envirobeads S-X3 column fully com pli es with USEPA Method 3640A and CLP s Statement of Work. High-capacity column Fully compliant with USEPA, CLP, FDA, USDA, USGS, and AOAC re quire ments Rugged, reusable glass column Prepared using a variety of sol vents (mobile phase) EnviroSep-ABC Column Speed, Resolution, and Throughput The EnviroSep -ABC high-efficiency column provides greater chro mato graph ic resolution for optimum results. Using a stainless steel column, special fittings, and smaller diameter 10-µm resin beads, the EnviroSep-ABC column operates at much higher pressures to achieve fast run times for high-efficiency GPC cleanup. The EnviroSep-ABC column is com pat i ble with a wide range of solvents and can be re-equilibrated with another solvent mixture when a different application or sample type needs to be run. With sample volumes of up to 5 ml and a column capacity of up to 0.5 g, the EnviroSep-ABC column offers high-resolution results without compromising value or sample throughput. Reproducible, highres o lu tion col umn Fully compliant with USEPA and CLP re quire ments High-pressure operation Fast run times, <30 minutes Com pat i ble with a wide variety of solvents Optima Column Rapid, Economical Cleanup The Optima small-scale column increases sample throughput, reduces solvent usage, and decreases the cost of sample preparation. Consisting of an inert Teflon column with a smaller inner diameter and shorter length than tra di tion al glass columns, the Optima column significantly shortens pro cess ing times. Complete a GPC cleanup run in as little as 28 minutes per sample using only 140 ml of solvent. Small scale does not mean small capacity. This column handles up to 0.5 g of material from 2.5 ml of sample. The Optima column is the low-cost alternative for applications that do not require USEPA or CLP compliance. Fast sample throughput Significantly reduced solvent usage Lower sam ple preparation costs Inert Teflon column
