City of Durham, C Title: Digital orensics Specialist Class Code: 3231 LSA Status: on-exempt BIE DESCIPTI: The purpose of this position is to perform forensic examinations on seized digital evidence in criminal investigations. This is accomplished by collecting, processing, and preserving evidence, retrieving data, generating reports of findings, testifying in court, and training departmental staff. ther duties include capturing work for forensic processing, performing general technical duties, and maintaining contacts to help resolve crimes involving digital evidence. Assists in developing policy/procedure as it relates to computer forensics. 4 L versees maintenance of computer lab equipment by following policies and procedures and notifying supervisors when outside maintenance is required.
