Green Source Natural Environmental Systems understand the importance pond owners place upon maintaining their pond as naturally as possible and limiting the dependence on chemical water treatments. It is for this reason they have created Green Source. Green Source is our designation used to identify those Pond Keeper products that are made only from all natural ingredients that are ecologically responsible and safe for people, fish and pets. It is our way of helping our customers more easily select the products that will help them keep their ponds clean and clear without compromising their belief in natural pond maintenance. To find Pond Keeper products that are all natural and chemical free, look for the Green Source logo in this catalog, on our product labels and on our website. BENEFICIAL BACTERIA Pond Keeper All Season Hybrid Pond Bacteria This product contains an advanced blend of photosynthetic and heterotrophic pond bacteria, chosen for their ability to

work synergistically together in water gardens and ponds, to create a healthy and balanced eco-system. Photosynthetic bacteria are more aggressive than standard heterotrophic pond bacteria, but are limited by their need for sunlight. Heterotrophic pond bacteria are not as aggressive, but will perform 24 hours a day, without sunlight. This formulation provides the best of both types of pond bacteria, and eliminates the drawbacks of each. Initial Dose: Apply 8 ounces per 1000 gallons of water. Follow-up Dose: Apply 4 ounces per 1000 gallons weekly for 4 weeks. Maintenance Dose: Apply 4 ounces per 1000 gallons every 2-4 weeks as needed. Pond Keeper beneficial pond bacteria products utilize specific strains of allnatural bacteria selected for their extraordinary ability to degrade organic waste commonly found in water environments. BENEFITS Easy to use Creates a clean clear pond Restores biological activity Breaks down excess fish food, fish waste, dead algae and other organic waste Reduces ammonia and nitrogen levels Reduces odors Seeds biological filters Safe for fish, pets and people. Pond Keeper pond bacteria can be applied in ponds that contain aquatic life such as fish and plants. Beneficial bacteria should not be applied with algaecides. Any pond bacteria application should be made 48-72 hours after an algaecide/ herbicide application. 3

The packets immediately begin dissolving upon contact with the water. Contains cold water bacteria for performance in water as cool as 35. Initial Dose: Apply 2 packets per 1000 gallons of water. Follow-up Dose: Apply 1 packet per 1000 gallons of water weekly for 4 weeks. Maintenance Dose: Apply 1 packet every 2-4 weeks as needed. Pond Keeper Pro - Beneficial Bacteria Concentrate Pond Keeper Pro is the most economical way to dose liquid bacteria in a large pond or lake and bring back biological balance and restore health and water clarity. Each concentrated gallon is equivalent to 10 regular strength gallons. 5

NORMAL PONDS Initial Application: 1 gallon per surface acre. Maintenance Dose: ½ gallon per month. Application rates based on a 3 ft average water depth. For every additional 3 feet, double the dose. See label for application rates for troubled ponds. Pond Keeper Pro - Nitrifying Pond Bacteria Pond Keeper Pro Nitrifying Pond Bacteria is a super concentrated bacteria consortium that contains both ammonia reducing Nitrosomonas and nitrite eliminating Nitrobacter cultures. Pond Keeper Pro Nitrifying Bacteria can be used to quickly establish (cycle) a new pond or water garden, jump start a crashed filtration system, replenish nitrifiers after a medication treatment or when large volume water changes occur. Must be kept refrigerated. Application Apply 8 oz of Pond Keeper Pro Nitrifying Pond Bacteria per 300 gallons of water. Pour directly into pond near filter. Fish may be added immediately. Keep feeding low during the first week. Ammonia reduction will begin to be seen after the first 24 hours. Nitrite should be near zero within 5 days. Once ammonia & nitrite are both at zero, slowly increase feeding or add more fish. When used as instructed, additional applications aren t needed. To increase the ph of the water add 1 fl. oz. per 60 gallons of pond water. Allow pond water to circulate for a minimum of 30 minutes, then retest. Re-dose as necessary to get the pond water to the desired ph. When determining whether or not to increase pond water ph, always track the water s ph over several days (at least 5 days), by measuring the ph at 8:00 am, 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The ph reading of most ponds will fluctuate widely and naturally during a 24 hour period. Attempting to 13
