GLOBAL BACKING Engen has a proud history, having been part of the African landscape since 1881, evolving over the years to become a major player across sub-saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. Today, Engen is 80% owned by PETRONAS (Petroliam Nasional Berhad), Malaysia s national oil company. Since its formation in the early 1970s, PETRONAS has grown to be included on the Fortune 500 list of the world s biggest corporations. Through this association, Engen has global support in all areas of our business, coupled with the freedom to pursue our vision of being the oil company of choice in sub-saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands The remaining 20% stake in the company is owned by empowerment firm Pembani and contributes to our Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment imperatives of equity, management, employment, procurement and enterprise development. Our shareholders provide support on research, innovation, development and global best practices, giving us international know-how that can be applied locally, which is a key contributor to our on-going success and growth.

ENGEN TODAY Engen enjoys a presence in over 20 African countries in sub-saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands and maintains market leadership in its country of origin, South Africa. We also export our products to over 30 other territories. We operate a refinery in Durban, South Africa, which has a nameplate capacity of 135,000 barrels per day, as well as an advanced Lubricant Oil Blending Plant, that produces 40 tons of product per hour, totalling 320,000 litres per day on a single shift. Engen has an extensive distribution infrastructure across the region, including depots, terminals, lubricants warehouses, chemical distribution centres, aviation facilities and a bitumen plant. In addition, the company holds part ownership of 40,000 and 17,000 metric tonne product tankers. Key imports are also secured to supplement demand across our whole network. We also operate an extensive transport fleet of bulk fuel vehicles and have begun a procurement process to secure more environmentally friendly trucks as we expand our road haul capacity. EXTENSIVE CHOICE Our product range includes advanced fuels, lubricants and chemicals for the automotive, industrial, aviation, mining, agricultural, marine, pharmaceutical and coatings industries, as well as bitumens and polymers. UNIQUE CONVENIENCE In addition to providing fuel and lubricants on our service station forecourts, we also operate a highly successful convenience store network called Engen QuickShop, which offers a wide range of products and services, including groceries, confectionery, magazines and other household goods. At selected sites we partner with leading fast food brands to bring customers an alluring array of tasty treats. Our retail network currently spans approximately 1, 500 branded service stations across sub-saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, and is growing all the time. OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE Engen Limited is owned by Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS),Malaysia s national oil company, which holds 80% of the equity through Petronas International Corporation Ltd (PICL). Pembani, a black-controlled South African company focusing exclusively on the broader energy sector, holds the remaining 20% through Afric Energy Resources (Pty) Ltd. Pembani owns 55% of the share capital of Afric Oil (Pty) Ltd through its wholly-owned subsidiary Afric Energy Resources (Pty) Ltd. Engen Holdings (Pty) Limited owns the remaining 45% of Afric Oil (Pty) Ltd. Engen Limited holds 100% in Engen Holdings (Pty) Limited, which in turn holds 100% in Engen International Holdings Limited (an off-shore company based in Mauritius). The latter company holds all the shares in Engen s affiliates across sub-saharan Africa. Enpet Insurance Limited, domiciled on the Isle of Man, and Enpet Africa Insurance Limited (a company incorporated in South Africa), are both 100% subsidiary companies through which Engen s insurance programmes are placed and managed. Engen Petroleum Ltd owns 50% of the shares in Petrochemical Shipping Limited. Unicorn holds the remainder.
