The Nordic IT market is a mature outsourcing market, ripe for Cloud A mature IT services market Many deals are 2 nd or 3 rd generation outsourcing Nordic market had IT services revenue of 18.3 billion in 2010 Almost 11% of the Western European IT services market (Gartner) Offshore delivery has taken a long time to take hold Now willingness of organisations to use this as part of their delivery model, due to the recent economic difficulty Sweden: Largest market, accounts for +1/3 of IT services spending. The most competitive. Swedish organisations have traditionally made many time-and-materials-type deals within C&SI, as well as have signed smaller outsourcing deals Denmark: Lagging economy means less demand for IT services, but there is still growth here in a more subdued format Norway: The strong economy, fuelled by the oil and gas natural resources means less pressure to focus on cost improvement in the IT departments. Norway is the least mature in terms of leveraging vendors for transformation or beyond cost savings Finland: Relatively larger contracts with ESPs and smaller inhouse IT departments. This increases the reliance on the ESP and often makes these contracts more strategic in nature 5 10 Oct 2012 Nordic IT Market Overview

In 2009 Stockholm County Council initiated a program to reduce costs of approximately 220 MSEK, by 2013. Stockholm County Council identified a need of restructuring and consolidating the efficiency and process development of the healthcare s IT-infrastructure and was looking for a supplier who could take on the challenge. Solution: IBM will support Stockholm County Council with their competence within cloud computing and transformation. A Government Procurement between Stockholm County Council and IBM has been signed in the last quarter of 2010. By the end of the project, Stockholm County Council will have a Health Grade Network, consolidated and virtualized datacenters and a new operations and support organization. There are always new needs emerging within healthcare and we have to be in the forefront of those needs. We must have an IT-support that serves the needs of our employees, citizens and most importantly, our patients. With a new IT-infrastructure, we strengthen our foundation, ready to meet those requirements easier. - Åke Westberg, Project Manager at Stockholm County Council Solution components: Benefits: Stockholm County Council will have a centralized and more effective ITinfrastructure. The number of datacenters will be reduced, from 24 to 2. The plan is to have everything finalized, with visible effects, during the fourth quarter of 2012.
