I have signed up for a room but I have still not heard from the Accommodation Office? Check your spam filter before you contact the Accommodation Office. E-mails may be caught by your spam filter and even though some messages come through, others may still be held back by the spam filter. You must check your spam filter / junk e-mail regularly to see if there is a message from UCC s Accommodation Office that you need to know of and react to. I have signed up for a room but I have still not received an accommodation offer? If you have not received an accommodation offer within a month from you have applied for a room, you are welcome to contact the Accommodation Office. Please do not contact your local UCC department in accommodation matters. How and when shall I return my Tenancy Agreement? You must be ready to scan your signed Tenancy Agreement 3 days after you have received the contract attached in an e-mail from the Accommodation Office. If you do not return the contract with your signature before the deadline mentioned in the e-mail, the Accommodation Office may cancel the contract and offer the room to another student on the waiting list. You may not expect, however, to receive a confirmation of the receipt of your signed Tenancy Agreement. The dates for my arrival and departure in the Tenancy Agreement are not correct? The dates mentioned in the Tenancy Agreement are stated by you when you applied for accommodation. The dates are directly inserted in the Tenancy Agreement from your application form. If you want to arrive or depart at other dates than mentioned in the Tenancy Agreement you must re- arrange the changes in dates with your letter directly. Students who have received an offer to stay at Øresundskollegiet must contact the Accommodation Office. What will the Accommodation Office need from me before my arrival? When you have returned your signed Tenancy Agreement and your bank account information to the Accommodation Office you can start planning your landing in Copenhagen. 2 of 5 2
How much rent will I have to pay if I arrive a few days before the 1st in a month? As a rule rent must be paid for whole months. If you stay in a private home, rent for extra days must be arranged with your letter directly If you stay at Øresundskollegiet and arrive before the 15th in a month, full rent must be paid for the month. If you arrive after the 15th in a month, only half the rent must be paid for the month. How much rent will I have to pay if I leave earlier than expected and before the 1st in a month Rent must usually be paid for whole months. Due notice must be given to the letter at least one month before the planned move and always at the end of the month. If you stay at Øresundskollegiet due notice must be given to the accommodation team at least one month before the planned move and always at the end of the month. If you stay at Øresundskollegiet and leave before the 15 th in a month half the rent must be paid for the month. If you leave after the 15 th in a month, the full rent must be paid for the month. Will I be picked up in the airport and by whom? Some UCC departments will be sending a Tutor to the airport to meet you and to take you to your accommodation. Other departments might not be able to provide this service. Please contact your local UCC department directly on this subject, if any questions. The UCC Accommodation Office will not be able to assist you in such matters. Will my private letter meet me in the airport? Please note that you cannot expect to be picked up in the airport by your letter and very few private letters will offer this extra service. 3 of 5 3
However, if your private letter will meet you in the airport, you must inform your letter, if you are picked up by a Tutor from your local department as well. Contact your local UCC department if you do not know whether they will send a Tutor to meet you. The Accommodation Office is not involved in such matters. How will I get hold of my keys when I arrive? It is solely your responsibility that you get in contact with your letter before you arrive in Copenhagen. You will find contact information to your letter in the Tenancy Agreement. If you after a week or two from sending your first contact e-mail to your letter have still not received a reply from your letter, you must contact the Accommodation Office. Please, check your spam filter before you contact the Accommodation Office. You must take into consideration that some of the private letters are NOT experienced e-mail users and some are not used to write in English therefore you might receive a very short answer. When booking your flight you must take into consideration how and when to pick up your keys. I am a disabled student Please state your special needs when you apply for a room through UCC`s Accommodation Office. The accommodation team will take special considerations to your disability when offering you accommodation. Can I pay the deposit in Euro instead of DKK? You are welcome to pay the deposit in Euro instead of Danish Kroner. How do I know that UCC has received my deposit money? The deposit must be paid at least one month before your arrival in Denmark. You will not receive a receipt for your payment of deposit. You will, however, receive an e-mail from the accommodation team, if the accounting department has not received your payment before your arrival. Otherwise you may expect that we have received your deposit. Why do I have to send my bank account information together with my signed Tenancy Agreement? UCC s accounting department will need your bank account information before you arrive in Copenhagen so we don t need to approach you twice. Please note the form must be filled in electronically. You must return the form with the correct bank code (IBAN Number), Swift Code and account number to the 4 of 5 4
accommodation team. Please check the information with your local bank before you return the form. Who will refund my deposit? UCC s accounting department will refund the deposit at the end of your stay to the account stated by you. It is very important that you give notice, if you change your bank account after you leave Denmark. If the accounting department returns your deposit to a wrong bank account it will delay the refund of your deposit significantly. My deposit has still not been refunded? Please check whether you have forwarded the signed deposit form from the Tenancy Agreement to the accommodation team. Please check whether you have changed your bank account since you filled out the bank information upon your arrival in Copenhagen. I have received my deposit but the amount is much too low?
