Chapter 1: Database Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 This section contains the following topics: Changing to SQL Server 2008 for an Existing Installation (see page 7) Performing a New Installation with SQL Server 2008 (see page 8) Installing Support for SQL Server 2008 Using the Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool (see page 10) Changing to SQL Server 2008 for an Existing Installation To install SQL Server 2008 support for an existing installation of CA CM Enterprise Workbench, execute these steps: 1. Perform the DB installation described in the section Installing Support for SQL Server 2008 Using the Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool (see page 10). 2. Copy the JDBC driver for SQL Server 2008 into the following CMEW folder: %EW_HOME%\ew\WEB-INF\lib Choose one of the following drivers, depending on the JRE version: For JRE releases up to 1.5, use: sqljdbc.jar For JRE releases 1.6 and above, use: sqljdbc4.jar 3. Run the Define Data Source & Deployment Tool from Start, Programs, CA, CM Enterprise Workbench, Setup Utilities. Change the Database configuration files, if necessary (for example, if the server name or the CMEW user ID or password has been changed, and so on) and deploy the application. Note: If you want to migrate your data from a previous version of SQL Server, you need to use the tools provided by Microsoft to convert the older version of SQL Server to 2008. Performing a New Installation with SQL Server 2008 Performing a New Installation with SQL Server 2008 To install CA CM Enterprise Workbench with SQL Server 2008, perform the following step. Note: Anytime you see SQL Server 2005 during the installation, consider it as the same as SQL Server 2008, since these two versions do not differ in the configuration done by the CM Enterprise Workbench installation. 1. Perform the DB installation described in the section Installing Support for SQL Server 2008 Using the Enterprise Workbench DB Tool (see page 10). You should note the DB user password specified during this installation in panel Database Configuration Information, because you will need it later. 2. Perform the Custom installation of the product as described in the CA Change Manager Enterprise Workbench Implementation Guide, with the following two exceptions: a. In the Select Features screen do not select the Database Support installation, because it will be done after the CA CM Enterprise Workbench installation process using the Enterprise Workbench DB Tool. As shown in the following panel, do not select the Database Support options. 8 Database Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Performing a New Installation with SQL Server 2008 Enter the DB user password you have noted earlier in the Database User Password field on the CA CM Enterprise Workbench Data Source screen. At the end of the installation, when the Define Data Source & Deployment tool will be run, and before the deployment, copy the jdbc driver for SQL Server 2008 into CMEW folder: %EW_HOME%\ew\WEB-INF\lib Choose one of the following drivers, depending on the JRE version: for JRE up to 1.5, sqljdbc.jar should be used. for JRE 1.6 and up, sqljdbc4.jar should be used. Installing Support for SQL Server 2008 Using the Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool Installing Support for SQL Server 2008 Using the Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool To install the database support for SQL Server 2008, complete the following steps: 1. Copy the file MSSQL_DBsupport\bin\Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool.exe to the folder %EW_HOME%\bin. The setup tool is now available for use. If a previous version of the tool existed in this folder, it has been replaced. 2. Open the Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool from Start, Programs, CA, CM Enterprise Workbench, Setup Utilities, Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool, or find the tool in the Product Explorer as shown next. The Select Actions and Database Type panel opens. 10 Database Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Installing Support for SQL Server 2008 Using the Enterprise Workbench DB Setup Tool The Summary panel opens and should show that the target SQL Server is installed and no warning message should be displayed, as indicated in the following panel. 6. Click Finish. The installation of the DB Support starts. At the end of a successful installation, a message box appears indicating that the insulation was successful. 7. Run the Define Data Source & Deployment tool from Start, Programs, CA, CM Enterprise Workbench, Setup Utilities. Update the EnterpriseDb configuration file with the information about the server. Then click the deploy button to update the ew.war file with the new changes to the Enterprise DB.cfg to your JSP engine (Tomcat, Jboss or WebSphere). The config file is now able to locate the server.
