The applications available are TV This is the View TV Abroad IN A BOX TV application. Select ALL to view all channels or if your running on a slower internet speed between 1.5 and 2.5mbps select LOW which will take you to the lower quality channels for use on lower speed internet connections MEDIA BROWSER This icon allows you to play video and music from an external device such as a USB flash drive. Watching TV Switching channels The simplest way to switch channels is to either use the Channel +/- buttons on the remote or manually type in the channel number TV Guide / Preview window From any full screen TV channel, press the OK button on the remote. This will take you to the TV guide/preview window. From here you can scroll down to whatever channel you want to watch. There are multiple pages of TV channels. The program will launch in the preview window. To put it into full screen simply press OK. To see a list of what is on that channel for the next day, days or week press the right arrow button, highlight the day you want to see programming for and press OK. Press the left arrow button to return to the TV Guide Past/Present/Future Guide (PPF) From the TV guide/preview window press the INFO button on the remote. This will take you to the PPF (Past Present Future) Guide. From this guide, use the left, right, up and down keys that surround the OK button to scroll around the guide. The red line shows the present time, anything to the left is in the past.

Recording & Playing back programs The box automatically records 7 days worth of programs on select channels. The channels that record are marked in the TV guide with purple clocks next to the channel number. Playing programs from the past From the PPF guide you can select previously recorded programs by simply scrolling back in time on the guide, highlighting the program you want to watch and then pressing OK on the remote. Note: Due to program airing times, some programs may begin slightly before the recoding begins and the first few minutes are cut off. To watch the beginning of these programs, you will need to select the program preceding one you are wanting to watch and then fast forward to close to the end of that program to catch the beginning of the next program. You can do this by using the << >> II> and buttons on the remote. If the program you are watching gets slightly cut off at the end, then you will need to play the proceeding program on the guide to catch the end. You can also use the << >> II> and buttons to control the playback of any recorded program. The >> and << buttons between the channel and volume buttons skip back and forward 15 or 30 seconds. Once you have finished watching a prerecorded program, press EXIT on the remote to return to the menu. Recording programs It is not necessary to record programs on recordable channels as they automatically record anyway, however sometimes you may wish to mark a program to record in the future and save it to a USB stick for watching later on You can do this on recordable AND non- recordable channels. To record a future program plug a USB memory stick into the USB port on the front of the drive, then simply scroll forward in time to the program that you want to record, highlight it and press the red F1 key on the remote. A box will pop up on the screen asking to confirm the recording. Note your box must be switched on at the time of recording for the program to record. IMPORTANT The USB Stick must be in the Format FAT32 for the Box to be able to recognise this, we have also found that some Flash memory sticks are not compatible with the Box To Change the Format simply plug into a Windows computer, right mouse click on the drive and select format, if not already in the FAT 32 Format change this, please be aware reformating the stick will loose any data on the stick so please ensure you back this data up.

You can also download previously aired programs on recordable channels to the USB stick. Simply highlight the program you wish to download, press the yellow F3 button and confirm the download. You can track the download progress by clicking on the DOWNLOADS tile in the main menu. You can also remove the USB drive and plug it into a laptop computer and watch the programs on there! Media Browser You can plug a USB storage device into the front USB port of your set top box and play back videos and music stored on the device through your TV. The box reads most popular formats including MP3 and AVI files as well as playing back programs from the box you have saved to it. To play back a file on your USB device, scroll over to MEDIA BROWSER in the start menu and press OK. From there you can select the directory and file that you wish to play.

Troubleshooting My picture is sometimes choppy or the screen goes black. Why? You are watching a live Internet feed directly from the UK. Any number of factors can cause video disruption. You must have a minimum 2MB Internet connection to ensure good quality video. Sometimes network traffic at peak times can cause video disruption. Freezing issues The streams your View TV Abroad in a box receives come from a massive 10GB feed based out of multiple POP s around the world. Our system automatically routes your box to the closest POP. We have a 99.95% uptime on our feeds. If your box is experiencing freezing, then there is a 0.05% chance that it is a problem with our system. Our engineers monitor our feeds 24 hours a day. If there is any maintenance issues, or planned disruption in service, we will always let you know by sending a message to your screen. If you are experiencing any freezing video that we have not let you know about it advance, then it is almost certainly a problem with your local system or Internet provider. Your View TV Abroad in a box is only as good as the Internet it is connected to. We are a small company and take every single customers experience very seriously. We have worked very hard to build a system to bring UK television to people all over and world who otherwise cannot get it. It is virtually impossible to quantify just how complicated it is to design and build a system that makes it possible for you to watch UK television at the other side of the world. We want all of our customers to enjoy perfect UK television feeds, however some things are out of our control and can cause disruption. It is important to know that just because other services like Netflix and YouTube may stream OK and your View TV Abroad box may not does not mean that the problem lies with your View TV Abroad service, nor does having a very fast Internet connection bare any relevance. You can have a 30MB connection and your View TV Abroad box may still freeze because of packet loss or inadequate routing provided by your ISP. Streaming video tests the limits of any Internet connection and is the most bandwidth intense product available. NO streaming video system works perfectly 100% of the time, but the system we have built is as close to perfect as there is. If you are experiencing freezing issues, especially at peak times of day (6PM- 10PM and on weekends) then it is an absolute certainty that the problem lies with your ISP. If you are experiencing consistent freezing at all times, then there is a 100% certainty that it is a problem with your Internet provider.

Steps you can take to help alleviate freezing issues. In the main menu, scroll over to SETTINGS and press OK. You will see a sub menu of settings. In the advanced settings menu, you will see a buffer setting. Use the left and right arrows to increase and decrease the buffer. The buffer should be set somewhere between 1-4 do not set it any higher than 4 and only set it above 1 if you are having serious streaming issues. DO NOT alter ANY of the other settings on this screen. We recommend using your View TV Abroad Box hard wired rather than using WiFi, obviously this is not always possible due to the location of you router, if this is the case we recommend using a powerline adapter, pleae see the following; Please see the following recommended powerline products: UK - TP Link Powerline Adapter USA - TP Link Powerline Adapter Europe/Spain - TP Link Powerline Adapter Japan - TRENDnet Powerline We have found on lower speeds, between 2 and 3 mbps the powerline solution is a much better solution than using WiFi Make sure your WIFI router is less than 30ft away from your View TV Abroad box. To check to see if the problem is with the WIFI connection, connect the View TV Abroad box directly to your router with an Ethernet cable. Move the router and the ViewTV Abroad box closer together if possible. Cheap wifi routers are not equipped qto handle transmitting video. You MUST have an Internet connection that is 2MB or higher. Certain ISP s, share their internet connections and at peak times your internet connection speed will drop as more people in your area go online. There is nothing we can do to help this situation. Run a test on your Internet connection by going to www.pingtest.net and look at the results. ANY packet loss on your line with cause disruption in your feeds. Reboot your cable modem and router. Sometimes this helps. If you are experiencing these issues, this is a problem with your local Internet provider or the setup in your house. You should contact them and tell them about the issue. This problem is outside of our control and we cannot help you with this problem.

I can t get my box to connect. I get a message 'Service Unreachable'. The Service unreachable message means your box is not connecting to your router or your router is not connecting to the internet. Check to make sure your Internet is working. Restart your router, and check your WIFI connection if you are using a WIFI dongle. Make sure you have entered the correct password and that your box is connected to your router. Your password is case sensitive. If you know your internet is working and you keep getting service unreachable message then it is almost certainly because your WIFI settings are wrong, usually the password. Nothing is coming up on the screen or MODE NOT SUPPORTED First make sure your box has a blue light on the front. Make sure your video input on your TV is set to the corresponding input that the box is connected to. If it is, unplug the power from the box and plug it back in. If still nothing then follow these instructions EXACTLY as written 1. Unplug power from box. 2. While holding down the MENU button on the remote, plug the box back in 3. Hold the MENU button down for 5 seconds after plugging in. If you are still seeing nothing then go to step 4, if a menu appears, go to step 5. 4. Press the red F1 button on the remote. You may have to press it twice, until a blue screen appears with a menu on it. If the menu says TV TYPE at the top then skip to step 5, if it says UPGRADE MENU, then press the right arrow on the remote and wait for the next menu to appear. 5. Using the up, down, left, right arrows on the remote, press the right arrow button until TV type is set to 1080i- 60 if you are using an HDMI cable or NTSC if you are using the standard cable. If you are in a country that uses the PAL system then set TV type to 1080i- 50 6. Arrow down to Graphic res, press the right arrow button until it is set into 1280x720 if you are using an HDMI cable or 720x480(576) if you are using the standard cable 7. Arrow down to Exit and Save, press the right arrow button to save and then press OK to confirm NEVER go into any of the other settings on this menu page or change them. You WILL render your box useless AND you will void your warranty. Still can t get it to work? Email our tech support team. The email address is located on our website.
