HOW WILL IT LAYER INTO THE US YOUTH SOCCER CONCUSSION PROCEDURE AND PROTOCOL? Be Prepared Baselines should be in place before the player s first contact practice If an injury is suspected, share the Baseline with the qualified Medical Provider who will be assessing and caring for the player. After Injury cognitive testing can be completed by the Medical Provider, and utilized in their assessment and treatment plan to help determine when the player can return to play safely and efficiently.

IMPORTANCE OF AN ANNUAL BASELINE Detects injuries that may have been unreported or unrecognized during the season or in the offseason Accounts for normal maturation changes to the brain that naturally occur in younger athletes resetting the Baseline Should be completed prior to the first contact practice May reflect cumulative trauma over time

WHAT A BASELINE TEST SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR Sideline Tool should not be used to determine if/when an Athlete should be removed from a game. Cognitive symptoms/ impairment may not appear for minutes, hours or days after the injury Diagnostic Tool should not be used to singularly determine if a concussion has occurred, or if an Athlete is ready to return to play

Test results stay with the Athlete, in one account, whether they change teams, doctors, insurance plans, or move all likely possibilities for Athletes who begin to play sports at age 4 or 5 and play into their adult lives. Athletes and their Parents manage who they share their test results with. Sharing can be done simply and easily. Access can be removed as quickly as it is given.

ATHLETE-CENTRIC MODEL The aggregation of Baseline and After Injury tests within one account provides the means for a qualified Medical Provider to benefit from a complete history of the cognitive snapshots when caring for an injured Athlete. When seeking medical care, the Athlete and their Parents can choose to see a Medical Provider who is compatible with their financial situation and insurance program. This may be a team recommended or required Medical Provider, but does not have to be.
