Server Upgrade Instructions We are pleased to provide you with the Chain Host Version 6.3.0 upgrade for your server. Depending on your system configuration, this upgrade may take 30 to 60 minutes to complete and can be accomplished by following the steps outlined below. You must complete the SERVER upgrade before installing any CLIENT upgrades. The CLIENT upgrade instructions begin on page 7. REMINDER: The server automatically reboots upon completion of this upgrade. BEFORE YOU BEGIN 1. You must have Chain Host Version 6.2.1 installed on the Host and Pharmaserv Version 6.3.0 installed on all of your stores before performing this upgrade. The Chain Host Version 6.3.0 upgrade will not continue if the Host is not at Version 6.2.1 and if all of your stores are not at Pharmaserv Version 6.3.0. If you have not received Chain Host Version 6.2.1 and Pharmaserv Version 6.3.0, please contact McKesson Pharmacy Systems Chain Support at 1.800.521.1758, ext. 8349. 2. All users must log off the Chain Host application. Do not access the application from any workstation during the upgrade process. 3. To ensure installation integrity, close all active applications, run Shut Down and reboot the system before installing this upgrade. 4. Make sure you are logged on as NTMANAGER before starting the upgrade. If not, please log off and then log on as NTMANAGER. 5. Complete a successful system backup. NOTE: DO NOT PROCEED WITHOUT A VALID SYSTEM BACKUP. IMPORTANT: If the upgrade does not complete successfully, a system backup is critical to restore your system data. You must have a valid system backup in order to preserve and/or restore your data. MPS cannot re-create lost data. If problems arise during the upgrade, do not manually abort the upgrade. 1. Insert the Chain Host Version 6.3.0 Upgrade and Documentation CD-ROM into the appropriate drive of your SERVER system. A window displays with links to several options similar to the following: 2. When the upgrade is complete, the following window displays: 3. Click OK. The server reboots automatically. 4. Remove the CD-ROM. 5. Once you have successfully completed the SERVER upgrade, you must continue with the Version 6.3.0 upgrade on all Chain Host CLIENT workstations. McKesson Pharmacy Systems Page 7 of 10
Client Upgrade Instructions We are pleased to provide you with the Chain Host Version 6.3.0 upgrade for your client system. This upgrade takes about 15 minutes to complete and can be accomplished by following the steps outlined below. Make sure the SERVER upgrade to Chain Host 6.3.0 has been completed before starting the CLIENT upgrade. REMINDER: The system automatically reboots when the upgrade is complete. BEFORE YOU BEGIN 1. Make sure you are logged on as NTMANAGER before starting the upgrade. If not, please log off and then log on as NTMANAGER. 2. To ensure installation integrity, close all active applications. 3. Log off of all Chain Host applications and do not access any applications from the server or any workstation during the upgrade process. Remove the CD-ROM. Store the CD-ROM in a safe place. 6. Contact McKesson Pharmacy Systems Chain Support at 1.800.521.1758, ext. 8349 to report your installation is complete.
