About Us Established in 1993, Plantation Tree Company has quickly set the standard for quality in field grown trees and ornamentals. Located in central Alabama at the end of the Appalachian Plateau, our climate of moderate winters and plentiful rain combined with our deep clay loam soil provides for an unsurpassed growing environment. Premium liners from the best growers in the country are carefully planted and maintained. They are then nurtured by drip irrigation and fertigation to insure that our plants consistently meet the high standards of quality that our customers have come to expect. Plantation Tree Company is a B&B nursery with 400 acres currently in production. We grow premium quality trees and shrubs for the landscape market. We are continually updating our product mix to meet our customer needs. We pride ourselves on the quality and consistency of our plant material. We go to great lengths to insure that we have uniform heads, straight central leaders, and solid branching structure, along with superb root systems. All this combined with great attention to detail in the digging and loading process insures that you receive a premium quality tree in the best condition possible. Thank you for making our new crapemrytle liner and container projects a success. We are continuing to expand both of these projects. Please continue to give us your input as we want to tailor these programs to your needs. We invite you to visit our nursery and view our product first hand. Just give us a call and let us know when you are coming to visit. You can see most of our product on our website at www.plantationtrees.com. Plantation Tree Company Bareroot Crapemyrtles We are growing Crapemyrtles in the field for one year, cutting them off at the start of the second year, growing the top for a year and then barerooting them that winter to give you a one year top with a two year root system. This makes an outstanding liner for either 15 or 30 containers or to put into the field to grow to a bigger size. We will have Natchez, Muskogee, and Tuscarora liners available. Plants will be delivered January-March 2016. Call us today to place your order as supplies are limited. Planted in February, ready for sale in June. 2 Planted in February, ready for sale in July. Installation of B&B Trees and Shrubs Dig hole 2 to 3 times wider than the root ball. Hole depth should be 2-3 inches less than the root ball depth so the top of root ball is positioned 2-3 inches above finished grade. CAUTION: Over digging hole depth and back filling may result in undesired settling. Place tree upright in hole and start backfilling with existing soil. Remove burlap from the immediate area around trunk. Backfill a few inches at a time and water in backfill to remove any air pockets. Insure that the root ball is adequately watered before finishing the tree. Stake the tree only if on a windy site or severe slope. Mulch an area at least six feet in diameter around the plant. Do not put over 1 inch of mulch over top of root ball. Remove the nylon strapping by the end of the first year. Insure that the plant is adequately watered throughout the year. Start your fertilization program as the roots become established in the backfill soil. 3 inches of mulch covering planted area up to edge of root ball. No mulch within 10 inches of trunk. Top of root ball 2-3 inches above finished grade. Root ball Use native soil to backfill. Do not pack. Hole 3x diameter of root ball 334-875-9176 l Fax 334-872-9621 l 1-800-848-5064 27
