Saugus CATHOLICS SAINT MARGARET BLESSED SACRAMENT TWO PARISHES, ONE FOCUS ON CHRIST 2016 Annual Report
A MESSAGE FROM FR. TIM Dear Parishioner, Given that we are all God s children, everyone is welcome at our parishes regardless of status in the Church, regardless of marital status, regardless of prior religious experience, personal history, background, or orientation: Everyone is invited, accepted, and respected at both Saint Margaret and Blessed Sacrament Parishes of Saugus. We are a Roman Catholic faith community. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we worship God the Father by imitating Jesus His son. Strengthened by the Eucharist and the proclamation of the Gospel, we strive to bring all people closer to God by evangelizing through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy and lifelong faith formation. Both of these statements proclaim the tone with which the Pastoral Staff and I go about, with the guidance of the Spirit, building The City of God. As we come together in liturgy we celebrate our heritage, the unconditional love of God, we are fed in Word and Sacrament and we are sent forth to live what we have celebrated. As we look to the needs of the community we initiate programs of spirituality, education and service to strengthen us in our resolve to be like Christ and continue His mission. We have expanded our staff to be able to reach out to areas that call for our attention. As we look down the road we hope to be able to expand the staff further that we might be better able to reach out to other areas of concern. These initiatives are undertaken to reach out to others as Christ would have us; witnessing to the ways of God as people looking for direction and healing. This report is presented to you to let you know where we stand and where we would like to be. Obviously we can not build The City of God without your help. We are asking you to prayerfully consider how you can best share your time, treasure and talent. May God bless you and our efforts as we go about living his word and following his guidance. Sincerely in the Lord, 2

+ Youth Ministry seeks to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person. + Youth Ministry seeks to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and the work of the faith community. + Youth Ministry empowers young people to become disciples of Jesus Christ who witness to their faith by living and working for justice, peace, and human dignity. Saugus Catholics Youth is the response of our Christian community to the specific needs of young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of the youth with the larger community. Youth Ministry in the Saugus Catholics Collaborative is relational, multidimensional, holistic, and people-centered. Adolescence is a significant time in the development of the human person. Our collaborative community has an important role in building assets in youth and assisting youth to successfully the complete the developmental task particular to adolescence. The presence of young people at our parish is a sign of hope and a great gift to us. Saugus Catholics Youth strives to promote quality programs, healthy relationships and functions for youth in grades 7-12. This inclusive ministry provides faith formation, social activities, retreats, and service projects as well as leadership training and mentoring. We offer many opportunities for our youth to grow within the Catholic community and with Jesus. Youth Ministry also supports and helps strengthens families through its comprehensive programs, services, and resources. The Youth Ministry process happens when a variety of people, through a team approach, share with one another their stories and their lives. By doing so, they share the story of our Creator.
