REVISION HISTORY This document will continue to evolve as existing sections change and new information is added. All updates are logged below, with the most recent updates at the top. Date What's Changed Notes 19 AUG 2016 Initial Document Creation 3

OVERVIEW This guide outlines the information you need to know about new or improved functionality included in Releases 16B.1 for Oracle Learn Cloud. Each section includes a brief description of the feature, the steps you need to take to enable or begin using the feature, any tips or considerations that you should keep in mind, and the resources available to help you. IMPORTANT: Oracle Learn Cloud platform and general technology updates can affect complex or custom LearnCenter pages. If you are using a custom CSS file, it is important to verify your site CSS with each product release. Based on changes in the platform, there is a chance that you could see alignment or positioning issues after a release due to the custom CSS used on your site. Often any updates that your CSS requires are minor and easy to make. Contact Customer Support through My Oracle Support for any additional information. For Licensing Information, please refer to My Oracle Support DOC ID 1461788.1. For the latest information on browser support, please refer to the Oracle Learn Cloud System Requirements document; My Oracle Support DOC ID 1461788.1. 4

WIDGET PORTABILITY - BETA New for Oracle Learn Cloud Release 16B.1 is Widget Portability, which is currently being released as a BETA feature. Widget Portability enables you to embed supported Widgets on external SSO-enabled websites by placing a snippet of code on the hosting page. This means you can use LearnCenter Widgets on your non-learncenter websites, Taleo Business Edition (TBE) sites, or internal intranet sites. You must white list any web sites on which you plan to use Widgets using a new Allowed Domains page in the root LearnCenter. White listing a website means you are telling LearnCenter that this website is secure for use. Once placed on an external page, the look and feel of a Widget can be customized to match that website s design by overwriting default LearnCenter CSS styles. Currently, the following Widgets are supported for use with Widget Portability: Learning Plans Transcript My Tasks STEPS TO ENABLE To enable this feature you must do the following: 1. Enable SSO for your LearnCenter. 2. Enter the appropriate domain information on the Allowed Domains page (root LearnCenter > Integrations > Allowed Domains). 3. Copy the snippet of code from the appropriate Widget s Embed BETA tab. 4. Place the code on the appropriate external web page. 5. (Optional) Update the HTML code so that the Widget uses the hosting site s CSS. TIPS AND CONSIDERATIONS For this feature to work, you must enable the following items. NOTE: This is information you will need to discuss or present to your IT personnel. WIDGET PUBLISHING REQUIREMENTS SSO must be enabled on the hosting website. Hosting website domain must be listed on the Allowed Domains page (root LearnCenter > Integrations Control Panel menu). You must have the ability to embed a snippet of HTML code on the designated hosting website. 6

WIDGET USE Your Internet browser must allow pop-up windows (SSO authentication relies on pop-up windows) It is recommended that you use an Oracle-recommended, modern browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, or the latest versions of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. You can use earlier versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers, but there may be additional browser prompts that affect User Experience. Refer to the Oracle Learn Cloud System Requirements document for a complete list of supported browsers. KEY RESOURCES SSO topics in online help. Widget topics in online help. The instructions that follow in this What s New document. Your organization s IT Staff Your organization s web designer. NEW ALLOWED DOMAINS MENU OPTION For the Widget Portability feature to work, you must white list the appropriate websites. There is a new menu option on the Integrations Control Panel menu in the root LearnCenter called Allowed Domains that enables you to do this. Click this option to open the new Allowed Domains page. 7

To add a new allowed domain, type the full web address of the website, and then click Add Domain. Notice that you can also delete domains from this list by clicking. All web pages residing under the allowed domains will be accepted for use. The information you set here applies to all sub LearnCenters of this root. NEW TAB ON WIDGETS There is a new tab on the Learning Plans, Transcript, and My Tasks Widgets that is used for obtaining a snippet of code to place on the appropriate SSO-enabled (and allowed domain) webpage. 8

Notice the Widget Embedding Code section on this tab. It contains a snippet of code for you to copy and paste onto the appropriate web page. This code becomes available for use once you have saved the Widget for the first time (during Widget creation). Simply click to select the snippet, copy it to your clipboard, and paste it to the appropriate web page location. If you have not yet set up a LearnCenter for SSO, there will be no code here and a message displays instead. A similar warning message displays to alert you if you do not have an allowed domain saved on the Allowed Domains page in the root LearnCenter (see above for details). NOTE: This tab only tells you if you have any saved domains on the Allowed Domains page. It will not tell you which domains are saved. You must visit the Allowed Domains page in the root LearnCenter to see a list of all saved domains. PASTING THE SNIPPET CODE ONTO ANOTHER WEBPAGE To paste the snippet onto an SSO-enabled (and allowed domain) webpage, view the page in HTML format and paste the snipped into the HTML body. If you would like to override the LearnCenter CSS styles and use the web page CSS, you can do so. All Learn Widget styles are visible in the HTML code, and are prefixed with learn-portability. 9

CREDIT VALUE IS NOW BASED ON USERS AND NOT EVENTS The Credit value displayed on the Transcript Widget and the export documents has been changed. Prior to Oracle Learn Cloud Release 16B.1, the Credit value was based on the Credits mapped to learning events. All Credits mapped to a learning event were used, with the Credit values summed to get the total value of Credits. This total was the Credits value. The Generate PDF with Credits export option listed each Credit mapped to the learning event along with the Credit value. If a learning event included multiple optional Credits, all were included in the sum. Now, the Credit value is based only on the Credits mapped to the User for a completed learning event. This includes earned automatic credits and only the optional Credits selected by the User. Previously, the value incorrectly included all optional Credits in the calculation, whether they were selected by the User or not. For example, a Course may have an automatic Credit with a value of 10, and two optional Credits with values of 2 and 5. With this update, if the User earns the automatic credit and selects the optional Credit with the value of 2, the total earned Credit for the Course is calculated as 12. The Transcript Widget now displays the earned Credit value of 12, and the Generate PDF with Credits export option displays the two mapped Credits names and values. Prior to Oracle Learn Cloud Release 16B.1, the Transcript Widget incorrectly included all the available Credits (10 + 5 + 2), displaying an earned Credit value of 17, and the Generate PDF with Credits incorrectly listed all three Credit options and the total of 17. VERY IMPORTANT: This change impacts Credits earned before Release 16B.1. This means the total Credits displayed for a User may be different for post-16b.1 generated pages and Reports vs. pre-16b.1 pages and reports. 10

UPDATE TO THE TRANSCRIPT WIDGET A change has been made to the Content tab of the Transcript Widget. The start date option on this tab has been made more flexible so that it supports the generation of transcript details that match fiscal years and other reporting periods that do begin with January. Prior to this release, you only had the option of selecting the Previous Year to Date and a Starting month, or the Current Year to Date and a Starting month. 11

Now, you can enter the Staring Year and the Starting Month. Notice the new drop-down lists on the page. --- 12
