Product Overview: The AS2 (AS2B/AS2S) is a dual shelf cable management system. The AS2 (AS2B/AS2S) has a sleek design which can be used with or without a Plasma/LCD mount. The AS2 (AS2B/AS2S) is constructed from two high grade aluminum wall plates and two 5/16" thick glass shelves capable of holding up to 35 LBS each. The AS2 (AS2B/AS2S) shelving unit is designed to fit under your display and provide an on wall solution for all components such as cable boxes, DVD players, game consoles, and stereo components. There are two 3 3/16 holes on the aluminum plate that allow you to cleanly run your cables up to your TV or down to another component, as well as out the bottom to an outlet. Installation Instructions: Preparing for assembly: Remove all items from the box and inspect all parts of the unit. Remove the plastic film on glass shelves. Assembling the shelving unit: Step 1: Start at the top. Step 2: Assemble pieces one at a time in order shown in Figure 1.
Assembly Tips: 1. The metal end plates (6) have a top and a bottom. Attach them so that the recessed screw holes in the center are facing outward. 2. When installing the protective plates (5) make sure the flat side is towards the glass. 3. The rod (8) guides on the protective plates (5) fit into the aluminum sections (2,3,4). It is a very tight fit but once in place, it adds to the stability of the shelving unit. 4. Once fully assembled you can use the two included Allen wrenches(9) to tighten the top and bottom rod screws (7) at the same time. 5. Tightening the end screw (7) also eliminates any bend in the rods (8). Once assembly is complete your shelving unit should look like as shown in figure 2:
Pre-Drill Mounting Holes: Once you have determined where you would like to install your shelving unit you will need to pre-drill the holes for the wall plate. Please refer to the following table to determine the size of the pre-drilled hole and depth. Installation Option: Wood Stud Drywall Concrete Pre-Drill: 1/8" drill bit x 2" deep 5/8" drill bit x drywall depth 1/2" drill bit x 2" deep Note on Concrete Installation: For concrete installation it is required to use the plastic concrete anchors to provide maximum support for your installation. When drilling into concrete or masonry, you have to use a special masonry drill bit which you can purchase at your local hardware store. Using a standard drill bit will not penetrate the concrete and it will just dull your drill bit. It is not recommended to drill and mount into concrete block or mortar joints. If mounting into concrete or masonry we recommend using both of the supplied plastic anchors and lag bolts for maximum support. The supplied plastic anchors are rated for use up to 55LBS, but if you prefer you can go to your local hardware store and purchase metal concrete anchors. Installing the wall plate: To install your wall plate to the wall please refer to the following figures: 1. For wood stud installation see figure 3A. 2. For drywall installation see figure 3B. 3. For concrete installation see figure 3C.
Toggle Bolt Note: You must screw on the toggle bolt head before running the toggle into the wall. Note On Running Cables: You may find it easier to run some or all of your cables before attaching the shelving unit to the wall plate. Installing the shelving unit to the wall plate: Once the wall plate is installed and secure you can now install the shelving unit to the wall. To install the shelving unit to the wall simply take the shelving unit and set it onto the top of the wall plate. After setting the unit onto the wall plate screw in the two screws through the top of the shelving unit into the wall plate (See Figure 4). Once both screws are inserted and tight your installation is complete. ATTENTION: This mount must be installed using the supplied hardware with both lag bolts screwed into your stud, all four toggle bolts used in the drywall, or all four anchors used in the concrete or mortar for maximum support.
