Description This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to undertake a role as a coach. Likely functions for someone with this qualification include observing the performance of sports participants to determine the required level of instruction, and planning, conducting and evaluating individualised and team based training programs. Those with this qualification would also supervise practice sessions and provide in competition assistance to participants. Packaging Rules 15 units must be completed: 9 core units 6 elective units, consisting of: all the units in one of Groups A to N the remaining to make up the required 6 elective units from General electives or SIS10, and must be first packaged at AQF level 2, 3 or 4; up to 2 of these may be selected from any current accredited course or other Training Package, and must be first packaged at AQF level 3. In all cases, selection of electives must be guided by the job outcome sought, local industry requirements and the characteristics of this qualification (as per the AQF descriptors).
